The difference between Respironics C-Flex and ResMed EPR is discussed in the second article of our December 2005 newsletter. These two features are not the same and it is important to understand their differences.
You should be aware that some interface devices with narrow tubes, such as the Nasal Aire or the Breeze with Nasal Pillows, may have an impact on the ability of this and other auto CPAPs to accurately respond to airflow restrictions during use.
A ResMed DC-12 Converter For S8 Machines must be used with the 12 volt jack. Any other cable will likely cause a machine failure.
CPAP machines come with a six foot hose, a travel bag and manuals. Masks are not included and must be purchased separately. We will be happy to help you with sizing and offer suggestions on current popular masks.
Do not run this machine on a regular AC to DC inverter. A pure sine wave inverter must be used. We sell these on the website.
The EPR and Auto features cannot be used simultaneously.
All S8 and S8 II CPAP Machines utilize a "Cool Down" feature that runs the CPAP Motor up to 1 hour after turning the machine off. The motor helps to cool off the humidifier plate. You may hear a "faint blowing sound" when you turn the machine off. However, you can unplug the power cord and allow the heater plate to cool without airflow.

"Great Auto PAP machine. A little on the heavy side, but compact and reliable. While other machine have failed or developed loud noise, the Resmed continues to silently operate reliably. Purchased this one as a travel spare for the one at home."

"Others have praised the APAP for years. I finally managed to buy this one and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. I cannot wait to sleep with it and truly feel that I sleep better with the Vantage than I ever have since acquiring apnea.
My ResMed S8 Compact is still going and will be used for backup as well as traveling. That is...it will travel IF I can FORCE myself to leave my Vantage at home."
4.5 stars

"The only reason I can find to knock off of a 5 star rating is it's loud. I had a S8 Escape. It was a lot quieter. But if you use this site to compare the two units, they have the same DB rating. It's not so loud it keeps me of my wife awake but it is louder than the old one.
All in all it is an awesome machine with lots of options. I like the fact you can see some results by viewing the lcd display on the machine. Of course you won't get detailed info like you would if you had the software & card reader but still a very nice touch! It shows PRESSURE, LEAKS, AHI, AI, & HI. That at least gives you a clue of how things are working. It's also small enough to travel with. Sure there maybe smaller units but why buy 2 units when this one is as small as it is? I love the auto side of it. My prescription calls for 11" press. I set it on auto to be between 8" - 14" So when falling to sleep it's on 8" it's a lot quieter.
I got the S8 Escape from DME & found out they were charging Three thousand five hundred buck for it. Buy it on this site for 289. I choose this machine for all the extra feature & not that I'm using it I'm glad I got it!"
