The Softcap Headgear is a reusable headstrap designed for use with nasal and full face CPAP masks. The headgear comes with a Single Quick Clip, to make getting in and out easy. This strap headgear is a lasting product. The elastic is fairly strong and is therefore not suggested with very soft cushion masks like the Contour Deluxe and Comfort Classic. Use the Deluxe Headgear for these. This headgear is best used with the:
Profile Lite Nasal CPAP Mask
Respironics Soft Series Nasal CPAP Mask
SomnoPlus Nasal CPAP Mask

Important Tips
The Respironics Softcap medium size fits the average man up to a head circumference of 24 inches. Above that a size large is suggested.
"The headgear is the most comfortable one I have used for my quattro mask. This is my second headgear. I tried cutting the first one as recommended by others. It frayed and fell apart quickly. This time I attached both quick release fittings to the mask and my husband threaded the thick straps through the slots on the quick release. He did it by bending them in two. No cutting, no potential for fraying. Works great!"

"I have used this product for many years and it is my favorite head gear."
Meh....
Amy D, IL – May 09, 2010
"I am lukewarm on this purchase. I had to modify the straps by cutting them down b/c they were too wide to fit in my mask.....now the straps are fraying were I cut them. Also, the bottom straps kind of rub my ears and cause some irritation.
This headgear might work for some - just not me. I am returning to my old headgear."
Soft Cap
Lional T, Midlothian, VA – January 30, 2010
"I am very pleased with this item. It is much more comfortable than the straps most masks come with. I received one clip modifier (my namefor it) that allows me to use the very wide straps that come sewn to the cap without having to cut them. Two would be more helpful. I hated to have to cut the others to make them fit but I had to. The will ravel when cut and I do hate that. But this is a great idea and I would buy it again. In fact I will be buying another one soon."
Great Headgear
Carle H, Frederick, MD – September 30, 2009
"The softcap is far superior to the standard headgear. I have been using them for years. They are very easy to use and are easily adjusted to keep the appropriate tension so the mask stays in place. They come with a small connector that is supposed to make it easier to get on and off but I don't use it. There is enough elasticity in the softcap so I just stretch it enough to slip it over my head."
