"this comfort curve cpap has been a dream for me. i have tried at least 13 different ones. this is the only one that is truely comfortable. i can read easily with it as i go to bed. i made one very nice madification. i removerd the included cheek pads-ground the underlying plastic to match my cheek bones-than placed on a dental semi soft impression material that picks up my cheek contour perfically. i have just tried two others and they are not as good. i have been on the cpap for 7 years now. the first 2 were a real pain. the last 5 years i havebeen on the comfort curve. those of you that are having troube please keep trying-its really imp. to your health. good luck."

Still Whistling...
September 16, 2009

"I have used the ComfortCurve since April 2009, and it took some time to adjust. The major annoying problem is the whistling sounds, which appear to be humidity related, and I believe this problem is not limited to the ComfortCurve (per my research on cpaptalk). My belief is that the small CO2 vent holes in the front can be blocked by excess humidity, and this can cause loud whistling sounds to occur in the middle of the night (to the point of waking me up). I adjusted the humidity, and the sound has not returned.
I understand that the manufacturer quit making the nasal mask, and according to the local rep, it was due to challenges many people had in using it. Plus, the nasal mask was not prescribed to the "right" people. This mask has worked for me, even when sleeping sideways, so I plan to purchase a couple more before inventory runs out.
Note that I have also tried the OptiLife (using the nasal cushion), and I had problems having it knocked off my face when I try to sleep sideways. This was the equivalent replacement given by the manufacturer when I initially complained about the whistling noise from the ComfortCurve. For me, I would rather use the ComfortCurve than the OptiLife."

"Pro's - The seal over both nostrils and dual exhaust ports make for comfort on inhale and exhale. Nice not to have a bruise on the bridge of your nose. Head gear is really comfortable. Comes with all sizes so you can really get the best fit for all noses.
Con's - It can fit all noses well, but it does not fit all faces well. It seems to me to be made for people with a more narrow face. Mine is wide and round. This puts a lot of pressure on my cheek bones which isn't really pleasant. Also, it doesn't seem to be for constant movers. Every time I turn over I have to readjust to get a good seal again.
Overall - It is a good mask, but I would still rather use the comfort gel and risk the bridge bruise."
