Great mask, easy to wear

"I actually bought this to morph it with a Nasal Aire II cannula. Works great. The NAII cannulas are interchangeable with the Bravo cannulas. I just need more stability in the headgear than the NAII offers. But I prefer the prong cannulas."

Comfortable fit but hard to breathe

"I was initially encouraged by how comfortable the Bravo seemed to be when I first put it on. I had no problem getting the pillows to seal properly and had no leaks even with what I considered a pretty loose fit on the headgear.
The problem is that I did not feel like I could exhale. I was really having to force air out and it made my breathing very unnatural and made it impossible for me to sleep. I had read in reviews of other masks how people were concerned that the blast of air from the exhalation port would keep their partners awake, but with the Bravo, it seemed like I could barely get any air to come out of the exhalation port which consists of 6 very small holes.
I ended up ordering the Hybrid, also made by InnoMed, and what a difference! I had no problem exhaling through my nose. The difference is the size of the exhalation ports (holes). Even though the Hybrid also has 6 holes, they are much larger in diameter which explains the better airflow. This was also confirmed when I looked at the exhalation airflow graphs in the manuals for both masks. According to InnoMeds data, the Hybrid has around 60% greater exhalation airflow than the Bravo. I would have thought that this would be standard among all mask, but I guess not. Unfortunately, since the air chamber on the Bravo is all silicone, I can't come up with a good way to increase the size of the holes to match the Hybrid.
I gave this 2 stars because it is actually quite comfortable. Otherwise it would have only been 1 star."

"I'm very pleased with my purchase of the Bravo Nasal CPAP Mask with Headgear. I have options with this headgear that were not available to me with the masks I had in the past. The carrying case that came with the purchase is a plus when I travel. I know I have found the perfect mask for me. Thank you Bravo."

Bravo Nasal Interface
October 21, 2008

"The Bravo is good - so far. I have used the Mirage Swift and the Nasal Air II, because I prefer cannula-types rather than the mask. The best part of the Bravo is the way the nose piece sets out from the face. All one feels is the nasal pillows - no pressure on the upper teeth. With the Mirage and Nasal Air, there is pressure under the nose. I find that the pillows themselves are a bit shallow, but I'll probably get used to them. I was accustomed to the nasal prong from Nasal Air II, which I liked. Why can't someone invent a prong with a pillow base? I think it would set better and provide better coverage. The headpieces in all of my products are the problem. Having a tight band across one specific part of the scalp for many weeks and months becomes unendurable. I thought the Nasal Air would solve the problem, because the cannula-type hose goes behind the ears. But then even the slightest prssure around the ears became painful. I think this is the way of it. The Bravo has a different placement of the headpiece - further front on the scalp. I am looking forward to a few months of relative comfort, until this spot on my scalp starts to hurt. I have also discovered that a sheepskin pad - the real hide with thick fleece - does help in disbursing the pressure. With the Bravo, escaping air can wake me up. I have only had it for a week, and I'm still working with the pillow sizes. All in All I would rate this as a pretty good product, and expect it will get better as I get used to it."
