"Having just “graduated” to a Bi-pap 21/17 and being told I needed a full face mask because apparently I am a mouth breather, I was excited to find a mask without the bulkiness of the forehead brace; because I am claustrophobic and just can not tolerate certain masks. I was disappointed in this mask because I had to strap it down so tight to eliminate leaks and the exhalation port is so loud I can not hear my alarm clock over it. I tried everything to reduce the leaks but after 3 weeks of waking up looking like I just got into a fight, I had to give up."

"This mask seems to fit fine and work well. I like it much better than the type with a forehead bearing point, which seemed to give me headaches sometimes. I don't wear it very tight so it leaks a little sometimes depending on the position of my head; I'm a side sleeper. The hard plastic piece that the straps attach to will break someday I'm sure; they seem minimally designed. As long as parts are readily available I'll be happy with this one for a long time."

Good Mask

"Hi, I have had a hard time finding a mask to fit my face and nose bridge. This mask so far has meant those needs. My nose still is a little sore on the bridge, but it's not anything I can't handle. The mask is great for keeping my mouth closed and not coming open during sleeping. I have tried at least 6 masks and none would work for me. This one seems to be doing the best so far."

Great Mask
January 15, 2010

"I have tried many masks, hating them all...I would go to work with dents in my forehead and lines all over my face that would last for hours.I purchased this mask and it has been the best by far. It took some tweaking to get the fit right. It is small and the most comfortable and affordable mask. The headgear could be a bit sturdier, but overall not too bad. The only other thing I did was put tiny 'o' rings on the part that clip fastens to. This stopped the wear on the clips. When you put them on you need to make sure the clip is closest to the mask and the 'o' ring is towards the end of the pin that the clip attaches to. I never need to change the clips. The only other thing is I use the fleece covers for the straps that touch my face. This is the only mask I will ever buy again. With this price point I make sure I buy a fresh mask often. Likely every three months.
Some other reviews state the mask was the most leaky and I found that this mask is the one that does not leak as much. I guess it depends upon your face shape. Always buy return insurance when trying a new mask. I did find that by going with the sizing guide, it was perfect. I am a size small. I was skeptical but went by the guide and it worked out perfect. I hope this helps future buyers."

Mask design Good - Straps could be better
October 20, 2009

"This mask seems the least leaky of the masks I've tried so far. The frame is very light, and the silicone cushion is quite durable. No other mask allows the elbow to twist and give in quite the same way. This is the first full face mask without a forehead brace that does not leave a terrific scar on the bridge of my nose, even when the mask is cinched tightly to stop leaks. I can read with my glasses on. The cushion design is superior, but needs a little tweaking around the mouth. Smiling or yawning causes leakage. The frame _seems_ fragile, but has held up so far.
More thought needs to go into the cushioning that curves around the mouth edges. I'm using a large, which should fit me perfectly, according to the zzz fit guide, but I sense a wider, 'balloonier' brim at the mouth edges and just above the nares might curb stray leakage better.
While the mask frame and cushion are superior, the head gear strapping it comes with is not. By the third night, it had stretched to the point where it had become entirely useless. The hook velcro began competing for the same area at the back of the headgear. No mask should include such a crummy head gear. I've used several competing masks for months continually without ever having the head gear of competing masks stretch out of usability. I had to re-velcro the head gear at least twice through each night because it kept losing its tension and began leaking. I've been using a PapCap as an alternative head gear. The PapCap provides much better control of mask torque, chin drop, and general leak prevention.
As with any full face mask, why any mask manufacturer won't provide decent chin support included with the headgear is beyond my fathoming. It should be mandatory as part of the head gear. Be prepared to use alternative head gear if you buy this mask. You'll need it.
The four stars I've given this mask is entirely based on the cushion and frame alone. The headgear is useless. If this mask's headgear hadn't stretched out of all proportion by night three, I'd have considered giving this review a five."
