The newly redesigned Hans Rudolph 7600 Series V2 mask system is a full face CPAP/BiPAP mask without a forehead support. The single-molded mask frame and cushion are made of clear silicone rubber and is contoured to fit over the chin. The one piece design and soft material allows for greater flexibility through a broad range of 5 different mask sizes. As an added upgrade, the 7600 V2 comes with a new Tri-Glide headgear design.
The new version 7600 Series V2 mask received several improvements over the original design. Most notably, the seal has changed to incorporate a membrane inside the cushion. For support, the cushion surface uses a series of flanges around the base and is constructed out of a thinner, softer and more comfortable silicon material than the original version. Because of the thinner mask walls, two structural braces have been added for cushion support. Hans Rudolph also moved the CO2 venting ports off the bridge of the nose to just above the anti-asphyxia valve, pointing the airflow perpendicular to the body.
The last enhancement to the 7600 V2 mask system involved changing the type of headgear and clips. The new V2 uses a nylon covered, polyurethane foam strap with new quick-release clips that slide easily into the mask frame. Now with the new Tri-Glide feature allows users to tighten or loosen the top headgear strap. Unlike the original version, the new 360° swivel elbow port comes with a detachable swivel adapter for quick removal of the CPAP hose; improving mobility and temporary detachment.
A summary of improvements include:
New seal design; inclusion of facial sealing flange/membrane
Lighter weight than original design; thinner silicone walls
Clip arrangement; uses new quick-release strap clips
CO2 venting changed; moved from top of mask to elbow
Nose brace; to aid in supporting the face piece
Headgear; changed to a universal polyurethane foam strap
Detachable swivel; allows user to disconnect from equipment without removing mask
3 sizes of headgear are available; (small, medium, large)
Tri-Glide Adjustable Top Strap

Promising, but not quite there.

"I am a longtime user of the Resmed Quattro mask, as the "least worst" option in terms of fit - I still fight with leaks constantly due to the round shape and asymmetry of my face.
My doc recommended trying a chin strap. The ones available seemed like a pain to use with a full-face mask (mostly due to interference with the mask on the chin). However I saw the HR has the flap under the chin, so I thought I'd give it a try.
It was promising - the chin flap does indeed keep my jaw from dropping and makes a much more stable mask than the Quattro when I turn on my side. However the fit still doesn't work out in the areas under my cheekbones. In order to stop the leaks at all I need to make it quite tight, and the pressure on my cheekbones is then too high to be comfortable.
Pros: Chin flap, pliability of the whole mask gives some chance of a decent fit. Inner flaps help the seal a lot. Less obstruction of vision, if I had a TV I'd be able to watch it with this on. :-) Seems well-made. Easy to clean, reasonably easy to put on and take off. Hose quick-disconnect is also nice.
Cons: Doesn't fit well on my round face. Needed to be cleaned before first use; the mask had some sort of powder on it even though it was sealed in its bag (I presume it's a release agent from the molding process, it seemed harmless). Very loud exhaust, and vents straight at my spouse.
I intend to give it another try when I can afford a couple bad nights of sleep. Again it does seem promising, but for now I'm back to my Quattro."
very pleased

"I did a lot of research before I ordered, and the previous reviews really helped.
As said in a previous review, the whole key with this mask/headgear is to not give up easily ... keep playing with adjustments until it works best for you.
I have used many brands of masks, and I have to honestly say that this is a well made mask and it works extremely well after finding the right adjustment with the headgear. Also, I had used a medium size with other masks and a size small with the zzzzzmask. I did like the zzzzmask, but the hard plastic frame broke and the clips came unhooked during sleep. I ordered an extra small in this mask, and it is the perfect size. I do like this mask by far the best of all I've used, and I've used many over the nine year period of using a CPAP.
As far as the top part of the mask, I did have to tighten quite tight to seal. I use a strip of moleskin or a square of toilet tissue folded to prevent reddness on the nose and to further aid in sealing.
The headgear is awesome .. I have C5-C7 neck fusion and I've had huge issues with other headgear. I have the small headgear ... I found that it works best for me to adjust the very top first, then the above the ear straps/hooks and last the bottom straps/hooks and it doesn't bother my neck ... gotta love it!!!! This process also gave me the best mask sealing.
I did have problems the first night. I called the 800 number and the person that I talked to got an actual mask/headgear like mine to look at and manipulate to give the answers that I needed .. I wasn't pushing the clips to make them click to secure them.
I also talked with other personel before ordering, and I have to say that the customer service of all that I spoke with was outstanding, pleasant and very helpful.
I also have found a wealth of information on CPAPtalk.com. It's worth time to check it out.
It has been an overall very pleasant experience."
Comfortable mask when adjusted right

"This mask is comfortable and the plastic is very soft and pliable. I just had my first successful night with it after the first three nights of trials. The key with this mask is to play with it, play with it, play with it until you get it right. You're not going to adjust your strap tension one time and then be all done.
On the whole this mask seals very well with no leaks at the bridge of the nose like most other masks do. With minimal tension the mask does seal even at my high pressure of 15cm H2O. It also stays sealed through a very high range of motion of turning your head. It does not stay sealed if you contort your face like what might happen when your face muscles become very relaxed during sleep- those leaks that happen when you contort your face are the ones that must be compensated for by snugging up the straps.
Other full face masks are closer to a medical anesthesia mask with their design. This mask is closer to a dust mask or respirator with it's design. It's no wonder they use this mask in sports medicine because once you get it set up right you have an incredible freedom of movement and it doesn't lose it's seal at all. The only time when it does start to lose it's seal is if you really start to relax your face/jaw muscles and your face sort of pulls itself out of the mask in those areas. The key point with this mask is to keep playing with the strap tension until you find a balance between tightness and having too much leak potential. The mask will seal and hold it's seal through a wide range of movement with the straps tightened at a fairly low tension, but any kind of relaxing your jaw or contorting your face will cause a big leak. So you need to tighten the straps until those types of leaks don't happen anymore. If you wanted to, though, you could keep on tightening for every little leak until the mask got so tight that it was painful. You have to accept that a certain amount of relaxing or contorting your face will cause some leakage- but those kinds of movements hopefully won't happen while you're asleep.
This mask is fairly "sharp" and what I mean by that is the points of contact with high pressure are quite narrow. As a result this mask leaves a lot more red pressure marks on your face in the morning- they are the kind that go away pretty quickly, but they're there. The straps are sort of narrow, so likewise, those can tend to dig in especially on the back of your neck.
This mask would be awesome if you only had to wear it for two or three hours at most, or if you could get away with minimal tension on the straps. Unfortunately it's not perfect and you need to snug up until most of the leaks that happen with facial contortion are gone and that puts it just on the other side of comfortable. It's comfortable enough while you lay in bed falling asleep but by morning time your face has had enough and you really want to get it off. It does do it's job well. It seals very well with a moderate amount of strap tension. The amount of tension that I have to use is just a bit too much, and I really want it off in the morning, and it leaves red marks (but they go away fairly quickly.)"

"After trying just about every full-face mask, this is the one that fits me the best. I love the chin piece and the fact it does not attach to my forehead. Also the wicked sores on my nose are gone. I love my this mask!"

"Mask is too hard at nose contact. Headgear fits too low on neck causing discomfort and changing mask tightness when head is moved back and forward."
