Learn More About This Product

The ComfortLite 2 Direct Seal Cushion Pack is a package of Direct Seal Replacement Cushions for the Respironics Comfortlite and Comfortlite 2 Nasal Interface. The Direct Seal Cushion is rounder than the Nasal Pillows Cushion and so does not insert into the nostril. Select size when placing the order.

Sizes 4, 5 and 6 are the sizes that are included with the complete ComfortLite 2 setup sold elsewhere on our site and should be considered small, medium and large. Sizes 1, 2 and 3 are smaller sizes for those with smaller, finer features.
What is unique about the ComfortLite 2?
ComfortLite 2 has a unique headgear system that minimizes facial contact and reduces pressure points. The Halo headgear only touches the face at the forehead, at the brow line. The strap goes around the circumference of the head, and does not sit on the cheeks.
What interface options can I choose from if I purchase the ComfortLite 2?
The three choices are the Pillows cushion, the Simple Cushion and the Direct Seal cushion.
What interface options can I choose from if I purchase the ComfortLite 2?
The three choices are the Pillows cushion, the Simple Cushion and the Direct Seal cushion.
How do the Pillows Cushion work?
The pillows cushion inserts slightly into the nostrils for a robust seal.
How does the Direct Seal cushion work?
The Direct Seal is a â€Å"pillow-like” cushion with pillows or bulbs that sit just outside the nostrils vs. slightly inside them. It comes in 6 sizes, 1-6 with most adults using sizes 3-5.
Is the headgear one-size-fits all?
Yes.
Do the Pillows expand in the nostrils like some ‘prongs’ style cushions?
No.
How does ComfortLite 2 affect nostrils?
One unique feature of these two cushions is that they include a metal band on the bottom side of them. The metal band is pliable and allows you to change the angle of the pillows or bulbs; a squeeze brings the bulbs closer together, helping you to direct the airflow to a more comfortable direction.
Can the metal band on the Pillows and Direct Seal cushions be shaped for comfort?
Yes, the band can also be used to spread the pillows apart, so you have the ability to find a comfortable angle for the airflow on a daily basis, as desired.
How does the Halo headgear work?
The Halo headgear has two soft, comfortable straps that extend from the center of the forehead and merging into a single, wide strap at the back of the head. It sits low at the neck. The ‘halo’ itself is a flexible oval shaped piece worn up the center of the head to just below the crown.

I put these nose pillows on for 4 nights in a row before my nose got sore. Previous nose pillows made my nose sore in just 2 nights. This is a great improvement for me. I believe if I continue to tweak the adjustment I will be able to lengthen my wearing time even further. I am very satisfied. Best Yet !!

Much more comfortable

Verified purchase | Jan. 19, 2008 | Verified CPAP.com Customer
I have tried the other two masks that come with the Comfortlite and have found both of them to be annoying to various degrees. I could NOT keep a good seal with any size of the in-the-nose pillow and was constantly waking up to try to realign it. This direct seal cushion works great and I'm able to keep it on much longer and don't wake up now to realign it.

Finally, a mask that fits!

Verified purchase | Jun. 30, 2007 | Verified CPAP.com Customer
I was a little disappointed when I found out that my insurance would only provide me with the Comfortlite 2. The cushion leaked like crazy and rubbed the bridge of my nose and the pillows will ill fitting, leaked, and rubbed my nose raw. My last hope was for these direct seal pillows. Thankfully, they fit perfectly! For reference, I have a long, narrow, aquiline shaped nose. Whereas the angle on the pillows was too wide, this fit perfectly snug in my nasal passages. I took off a star because this three pack is excessive. The size 6 was ridiculously large. If you use the gauge from the respironics site, you can narrow it down to two sizes. Just buy those two and you'll save $20+: http://global.respironics.com/UserGuides/UserGuideCLDirectSealGauge.pdf For example, I didn't know if I would need a size 4 or 5 according to the gauge, so I had to try a night with each before I discovered that size 4 is perfect for my big Roman nose. The size 6 that was also included is still sealed in its bag. So, do some research and narrow it down to two sizes and save yourself a few bucks.

My Nostils hurt

Verified purchase | Mar. 22, 2007 | Verified CPAP.com Customer
I bought the 3 pack and found the #3 to be best suited to me. I may end up with a #4 in the future. I am trying to eliminate leaking, so my wife will sleep with me (isnt that the point). Other mask either leaked when I moved or had to be on so tight, I had marks on my face throughout the next day. I seem to get about 6 hours of sleep with this product but wake up to a very sore nose. Hopefully this will go away in time. I will take my 6 solid hours, and a wife that is next to me when I wake up any time.

My favorite CL2 interface

Verified purchase | Aug. 03, 2006 | Verified CPAP.com Customer
When I recently ordered my Comfortlite 2, I chose the nasal pillow and simple cushion interfaces. I found the nasal pillows worked well, but I thought I would just try the direct seal. Wow! Am I glad I did. They worked for me even better than the nasal pillows. I am a side sleeper, and I have found they hold their seal and are more comfortable than the pillows. I would encourage potential Comfortlite 2 buyers, or those that already have the Comfortlite 2 with the nasal pillows and simple cushions, to give the direct seals serious consideration.
