OptiLife is a keeper!

"I have been a Respironics ComfortGel user for several years. All this time, I have been struggling with red marks across the bridge of my nose. I finally got tired of this and searched out a new product. After taking the time to put in my "measurements," I found that my doctor had actually prescribed the wrong size mask for me. No wonder I was getting red marks!
Hoping to find something that would allow my nose to heal, I opted for the OptiLife Nasal Pillow mask with headgear. I have fallen in love, and my wife doesn't mind. ;-)
This product is amazingly comfortable. That the manufacturer provides four different sizes of pillow is a great help; all the guess work of "what size do I need" is gone. The only adjustment I've had to make is the addition of a little padding to the head straps that cross my cheeks. A wrap, or two, of terrycloth around them, "basted" in place, makes the marks they left, after a night of restful sleep, a thing of the past.
I heartily recommend this product to anyone looking to get away from a "face mask." I truly wish I hadn't waited so long to make the move."

"I just got my new OptiLife Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask with Headgear and must say I'm very pleased with it so far. I've worn it 3 nights now and it so much easier then my previous mask. It's so much less cumbersome and I it doesn't give me the water blisters I got with my other mask. This is definitely the way to go, I do hope you can get the word out to everyone else that has to wear a nasal mask at night, they will surely agree it's far better then the older type nasal masks...
Happy Customer :)"

great mask

"I've slept two nights with it and so far I'm very impressed. This is superior to any other product I've tried to date and best of all, it leaves to skin marks in the middle of my forehead... there is some room for improvement though: 1)chin strap is useless if you have a double chin; 2) a swivel hose attachment would be great; 3) hose quick release is a common feature I've enjoyed with other masks (although it's so easy to put on and take off that is not a big issue). I definitely recommend this mask."

Nasal Pillow Alternatives

"I just received my Optilife. I had used the Swift but I did not like the side tube which allowed sleeping on one side/ some nasal pillow movement.
I have been using the Comfortlite 2 with great success for about 1 1/2 years. It is a bit hot/clumsy in the summer since I live in Phoenix, AZ. I was looking for something lighter and comfortable as a substitute.
I tried Optilife. The nasal pillows are very solf as compared to the Swift or Comfortlite. They do run a hair smaller than the Comfortlite. I had good results for my first three nights right out of the box. Very comfortable and stable using the loose chin strap which makes side to side sleeping and nocturnal movement not an issue. I am having an excess leak of about 5 l/m over the published inherent leak rate. I will work on it to lessen this figure and the adjustments for fine tuning are easy.
I like having the Comfortlite 2 with the direct seal and Optilife as alternates. The Optilife headgear is light, structually sound, and the new air tube is very flexible so it doesnt pull on the pillows. I just leave the tube loose over my arm/shoulder and it doesnt pull at all.
I have always find Respironics products very sturdy and well made in the past and relatively reasonably prices.
Ivan"
