Power Options
Universal Power
The M Series DS100 operates automatically between 110v – 240v AC. When traveling either inside or outside the USA, there are no switches to switch or fuses to change. The machine will automatically sense what voltage is needed and set itself to run on the power needed.
The user will need to adapt the plug that goes into the wall to fit the style of outlet socket that is being used. This is simply done with a Power Adapter Plug kit. This is the same type of plug adapter that would be used with a hair dryer or an electric shaver.
The M Series DS100 equipped with a DC plug on the back of the unit. This allows the user to connect the CPAP to an external DC battery source.
Using a Respironics, 12volt DC Power Cord the M Series DS100 can be powered by plugging into a cigarette lighter plug. This is ideal for traveling by car, boat, or recreational vehicle that is equipped with a cigarette lighter plug.
It is recommended that you use a 100 amp hour, 12v DC deep cycle marine battery for operating you CPAP machine when not connected to 110v AC /230v AC.
There are two cables needed to configure the M Series DS100 with a Marine Deep Cycle Battery. They fit together to make a connection from the back of the M Series DS100 to the battery clip terminals on the marine battery.
Here are the links to the cables needed to hook up to a marine style battery. Both cables are needed.
The Respironics Battery Pack has been a long standing favorite of our customer’s. It weighs in at 13lbs and can be carried easily with its shoulder strap.
This battery pack will give roughly 26 hours of use, depending on the cpap pressure setting. (Results may vary.)
* The Respironics Battery Pack must be charged with shore power. This unit can be charged at voltages ranging from 115v – 230v.

solid travel machine
June 11, 2008
(4 out of 5) by Annoymous User
"I purchased the M series DS 100 solely for travel and camping trips. I wanted a smaller machine that I could run on batteries. I have taken a few trips with it and it works well. It is noisier than my home machine, but not to the point of distraction for either myself or my wife. Overall, it works well with the battery pack and is easier to pack!"
It's quiet!!!

"It is quiet, simple to use, compact and easily integrated with the humidifier. Filters are easily accessed. I had about 6 - 7 years on a Solo LX cobbled together with a Fischer-Paykel passive humidifier. The Solo was loud and getting louder and the humidifier was easy to spill. The first night with the new system and mask was heavenly. The next morning my wife asked if I had slept as well as she did! All this domestic tranquility for less than half the amount the local provider wanted."

M-Series is great

"I have been using a Respironics RemStar for 7 years and decided to go with the M Series unit......I couldn't be happier. It is half the size, half the weight, and half the noise. It is so quiet that I had to check to make sure it was running for the first couple of nights. I only needed the basic unit, since my apnea is mild and I don't need bi-pap or auto-pap. Since the power supply is a small separate unit, it is a LITTLE inconvenient compared to the RemStar, but the size, weight, and quiet operation makes it worthwile."
