The SmartLink Therapy Management System is an intuitive and easy-to-use modular component that works both with the Standard and AutoAdjust IntelliPAP machines.
This package includes:
Manual
Module
Extension Cable
Data Card
Card Reader
Desktop Software
Firmware Upgrade Cable
Serial-to-USB Adapter
The module connects onto the back of the IntelliPAP machine and begins storing data on the IntelliPAP data card. The card records up to 3 years of usage data for the Standard model and 120 nights of advanced compliance data for the AutoAdjust and BiLevel IntelliPAP machine. There is also an optional oximetry port, allowing the module to record up to 72 hours of oximetry data from a Nonin Oximeter.
As an added convenience, CPAP users without the SmartLink Desktop Software can bring in only the Data Card to their DME or doctor to download compliance data without the machine or remotely make adjustments to the machine's settings. The changes occur automatically once you reinstall the data card back into the IntelliPAP module.
SmartLink Desktop Software tracks patient compliance data from the IntelliPAP machine and provides a summary report on your computer. Use the data card and card reader to auto-detect any new usage data from the IntelliPAP and automatically log all user activity to a patient record within the software.
Using the SmartLink Therapy System with the Standard Intellipap allows CPAP users to record compliance hours and total operating hours as well as settings, pressure and pressure relief information.

Important Tips
The IntelliPAP machine does not store therapy data for the SmartLink Software. The SmartLink Module must be installed in order to store the therapy data.
In order to use the SmartLink Software, the SmartLink Module must be first installed onto the IntelliPAP machine. The SmartLink Module stores the data which can then be transferred to the data card.
When the SmartLink Module is installed on the AutoAdjust IntelliPAP and BiLevel IntelliPAP, they will store advanced reporting data. When the SmartLink Module is installed on the Standard IntelliPAP it will only store basic compliance reporting data.
If you already have a SmartLink Module with Memory Card, please visit our product page that only includes a copy of the SmartLink Software and Card Reader: SmartLink Software Kit without Module.
DeVilbiss offer minimal technical support for installing this product. Technical support can be reached at 800.338.1988, Option #2. Technicians do not assist with interpretation of data.
"This software is totally different then the software from my old APAP and that is a good thing. It works perfectly and gives me information about my sleep that I can understand and use."
SmartLink for DeVilbiss IntelliPAP Machines
Jacek Z, CO – December 12, 2011
"SmartLink software and hardware is fully functional. However, extra delivered tutorial software "An introduction to CPAP therapy ..." requires (using Vista Business) additional Plugin."
Dianna W, LA – November 14, 2011
"The data module provides good information and so far is reliable. It does tend to come off of the machine rather easily. It would benefit from a "Push to lock" feature to secure the module to the machine. Multiple connection options to download the information provided in package."
So far, so good: see hint at end
Cheryl S, NY – October 03, 2011
"As noted in other reviews, the directions are a bit sketchy, because they don't expect the "patient" to be using it except to deliver the memory card to the doctor. One hint that would have helped if I had seen it before using the software: after you establish yourself as the patient, if you want to see reports, you need to click the patient button in the lower left corner, double-click on your name in the upper left area, below the toolbar, to select the "patient," and then click the "Reports" at the top of the drop-down list that opens up. (I have Windows XP, it might look different if you have a newer operating system.)"
Reporting your therapy to you
Vincent L, VA – August 24, 2011
"This feature is great to have. It made me to get a better understanding on sleep apnea dynamics and what the cpap machine is doing (functional and theory wise). Reports are clear to understand and it shows how the therapy is performing on you. I believe this is information to have as part of your medical portfolio."
CPAP software allows the downloading of information from certain CPAP machines. Information on breathing, pressure levels delivered, apneas, etc. is available to help determine the effectiveness of CPAP therapy. Software is not required to operate a CPAP machine. CPAP Software also provides more data than obtained through the on screen display or SmartCode. The CPAP Software also allows you and your doctor to drill into any night of data recorded and view the data on an hour by hour basis.
Some CPAP manufacturer maintains a proprietary software package that is only compatible with their machines.
Here is a list of each manufacturer and the name of its related full data software:
Philips Respironics: EncorePro - sold for Sleep Professionals
Philips Respironics: EncoreViewer 1.0 - sold for Patient Use
Puritan Bennett (Legacy 420 Series): SilverLining 3.10 - sold for both
Covidien: Sandman Series Therapy Software 1.2 - sold for both
Resmed: ResScan 3.3 and ResScan 3.7 - sold for Sleep Professionals
DeVilbiss: SmartLink Therapy Management Software - sold for both
Fisher & Paykel: Performance Maximizer - sold for both
Here is a list of each manufacturer and the name of is related compliance software:

What Data Capable Machines are available?
CPAP machines which record full data (like AHI and leak info):
*Note: The older pre-M Respironics CPAP, APAP and BiPAP Pro 2 with Bi-Flex, the ResMed S7 VPAP III, S8 Elite, and the Puritan Bennett Goodnight 420S, 420SP, and 420E record full data.
What types of Software are available?
There are two types of software available: Compliance software, and Advanced software.
Compliance software provides data such as patient hours, total machine operating hours, your pressure setting, and pressure relief information. Advance software includes compliance data and provides more detail such as AHI (Apnea/Hypopnea Index), Leakage, most pressure used, and a detailed usage histogram.
Compliance software is available with some standard CPAP machines. Advanced software is available with most top of the line CPAP machines, APAPs, and Bi-level machines as well.
How do I interpret my data?
Software data can be interpreted by your physician or clinician. There are also many websites and search engines available to help you research the sleep apnea related terms which will provide you more knowledge in managing your own cpap therapy. CPAPtalk.com. our free Sleep Apnea forum is a great resource for CPAP users who want to understand their condition and take control over their health.
How do I install the SmartLink Module?
There are three (3) tabs that attach the SmartLink Module to the DeVilbiss IntelliPAP CPAP Machine. Image of SmartLink Module's adjoining face. Also, there is a release button located on the same side as the oximeter and data cord connections.
The top 2 'tabs' and connector must be aligned first, then the last tab can be slid into place. If all 3 are aligned at once, the module will not attach properly. Typically, there will be an audible 'clicking' noise when the module is fully attached. Verify that all points are connected by lightly pulling on the module after installation.
If you are receiving an "EA1 Module Fault Contact Provider" message on your IntelliPAP screen, your SmartLink module is not properly attached.
