XL Nasal Seal--Added Purchase

"The Headrest comes with M and L nasal seals. I was using the L. Once I cut off the rest of the mask (keeping only the very essentials of the mask), I found that I needed one size larger than before. This may be due to my removal of the stabilizing elements of the mask, but that is also the greatest benefit. It lightens and frees the wearer, increasing comfort.
Now, if we only had peel and stick masks, we might have something! Until then, paring down the headgear is the best part of this mask. I only wish that 3 sizes of nasal seal were included with the mask; or, that the buyer could choose which 2 sizes were included.
The Headrest (aka Aura or Twilight NP) is a mask so good that it has lasted through several manufacturers (hence the 3 names). Mask choice and effectiveness will, of cours, depend on individual anatomy and preferences. Once a Headrest (Aura, or Twilight NP) user, we seem to stick with it and find that nothing else will do. I only wish that the additional purchase of a nasal seal was not required for those of us who need an XL. Are there none of us who also need a Small? The same would apply to the smaller size."

Same part, works fine!
June 13, 2008

"I must disagree with Jonathon R's review, which says the nasal pillow piece has been cheapened since AEIOmed took over InvaCare. The AEIOmed part I just received is the same as my original one from InvaCare, and works just fine. The $45 price is steep, but not out of line with other CPAP parts, and medical device prices generally. They're all overpriced!"

Replacing Nasel Pillow
January 22, 2008
(4 out of 5) by Terry P.
"I paid $45.00 for one replacement nasel pillow for the Twilight. I'd recommend for an extra $55.00 to replace the entire unit. Even if the your existing mask is in good shape, having spare parts might come in handy.
The part is fine , just it seems a little costly for the replacement parts."

Invacare Twillight NP
April 22, 2007
(5 out of 5) by Harry F.
"I can't express how great this Invacare Nasal interface is. Although I'm 6'8" and thus have a larger than average nose, when I switched from the large to the medium size nasal pillow, it was the first time in years I slept for 6-7 hours without waking up. There's almost no sound and no leakage. The device only touches my face at the flares of the nostrils and so I barely feel it. My heart-felt thanks."

Beware of New Manufacturer
March 11, 2007
(1 out of 5) by Jonathon R.
"Invacare has been bought by Aeiomed! I recently purchased two replacement nasal seals for my Aura, which is the only device that works for me. The new company has cheapened these part and is not manufacturing them to anywhere close to the specifications of the original.
Changes include:
Much cheaper and thinner material.
The seal is not effective and often leaks at the point of attachment.
There are raised ridges at seamd that make it uncomfortable to insert into the nse.
Most importantly ... the angle at which the pillows extend from the body of the attachement are much more horizontal, making it very uncomfortable to remain in place, and more importantly, almost impossible to maintain a seal.
I have spoken to cpap.com about this, and unfortunately, I got no indication that they believe there to be a problem. They suggested I return the items (at my expense) and they would send it off the the manufacturer, and if confirmed that they are defective, they would be replaced in about two weeks (I initially padi for overnight shipping). I don't see why a manufacturer that has obviously and deliberatly cheapened this device would admit to that, and additionaly, why would I want a replacement of the same?
This has been the first dissapponting experience I have had with cpap.com, considering the thousands of dollars I have spent with them."
