Zzz-PAP 'Silent Traveler' CPAP Heated Humidifier

Key Product Information

    Manufacturer: PMI Probasics

    Improved Sound Dampening and Functionality

PMI offers a mist of relief with the ProBasics Zzz-PAP Heated Humidifier for CPAP users experiencing upper airway dryness. Designed for use with the Probasics Zzz-PAP CPAP System, the Zzz-PAP Heated Humidifier increases air humidity, reducing dryness in the nose and throat. In addition, the humidifier features a small footprint that fits neatly with the Zzz-PAP sleep therapy device, creating the smallest, lightest, CPAP/heated humidifier combination on the market.

This is a 2nd generation device which has been re-engineered with a new heat control system that no longer generates sound or affects the ability of the heating plate to provide consistent, comforting humidification.

    Features

    • Redesigned Humidity Temperature Control

The control feature was re-engineered to address certain noises generated in its first version. This effort is to ensure a consistent temperature difference between the water and ambient air, minimizing condensation in the tubing ("rain out") and keep the humidification level constant throughout the night.

    • Easy to Clean

Comes with a detachable, dishwasher safe water chamber for trouble-free maintenance. Open the chamber with the always available Extraction Tool, stored on the humidifier.

    • Easy to use

Features a rotary button that allows you to adjust heating level along with separate Power On and Heater On indicator lights. When the Heater Plate Switch is pressed against the water chamber, the orange heater indicator light acknowledges that the unit is ready for use.

This is the integrated heated humidifier for the ProBasics Zzz-PAP. It does not work on 220VAC or 240VAC.

The outlet on the Zzz-Pap Humidifier Chamber is not of standard size. We have found that the hose quick connect and In-line Outlet Bacteria Filter will not secure properly to the humidifier outlet.

This humidifier can only be powered by wall power, and cannot be powered by an external battery without the use of an inverter.

AC power cord supplies power to both humidifier and CPAP. The sleep therapy device has short power cord jumper to go from humidifier to CPAP.

Works but flawed in several ways.   July 16, 2008

(2 out of 5) by Annoymous User

"I have been using this unit for 2 weeks while traveling. it has some good points and several bad ones.

GOOD POINTS:

1. It is compact.
2. It holds enough water.
3. It does reduce the blower noise somewhat.

BAD POIINTS:

1. It does not seem to get warm enough. (Even at the highest setting.)
2. The unit seems to have a mechanical thermostat that is both loud and inaccurate. The unit makes a loud "click", "Clack" sound as the thermostat cycles on and off. (Very annoying) A solid state thermostat is far more accurate and silent in operation.
3. The water tank is hard to get in and out to fill it. It's not easy.
4. The unit will not heat up unless the tank is pushed all the way in. The tank position sensor switch is not easy to align. Sometimes you have to push the tank in and out several times to activate the switch.

Overall... This unit is not a great design. I would probably not ever buy another ProBasics unit again. The price is right... But you get what you pay for."

"Has very large holding tank for water (larger than my Remstar) but easy to adjust temperature level. Same size filling spout as my large home unit that needs a small funnel or real careful to avoid spilling. Turning on humidifier does not start your CPAP machine but turning it off does. I would prefer the on/off control near the front"

Zzz-Pap Humidifier   April 16, 2008

(5 out of 5) by C.K., Ames, IA

"Works fine, may not travel with me I hope, but it's great at home. We'll see if no humidifier works on the road?? May just have to make room for it in the suitcase.

Again great service from cpap.com.

I recommend them highly."
