Product Overview

The ProBasics Zzz-PAP is the size of a small, square loaf of bread. It is one of the lightest and quietest CPAPs on the market. Best of all, it is built to last and backed by a two year manufacturer's warranty. You can plan on this little guy lasting as long as any other CPAP on the market.

Full Product Description

The Zzz-PAP "Silent Traveler" CPAP is manufactured by ProBasics by PMI, a division of Invacare. It is the smallest CPAP on the market, but offers most of the same features as the larger units, including an optional integrated heated humidifier, altitude adjustment, universal power supply, 45 minute ramp and the same 2-year warranty.

The Zzz-PAP is certainly easy to pack for travel, but most CPAPs stay on very small, crowded tables where size is also important. The Zzz-PAP takes up as much space as a CD case. When you add the component heated humidifier, it has a footprint just a bit longer than half of a sheet of copy paper.

If your CPAP priorities are size and sound, the Zzz-PAP is the machine for you.

Power Options

The Zzz-PAP does not have a 12v DC input for use with a battery. To use this machine with a battery source, we recommend that you use a 400 Watt DC to AC inverter.

Our Comments
CPAP machines come with a six foot hose, a travel bag and manuals. Masks are not included and must be purchased separately. We will be happy to help you with sizing and offer suggestions on current popular masks.

The Zzz-PAP is an extremely quiet machine. We feel that people who are sensitive to CPAP motor sounds will find this machine a true winner.

Even though the Ramp feature on the Zzz-PAP can be set to (0) Zero, the machine will still take approximately 2 minutes to reach your Full Pressure.

We recommend using a CPAP hose without a universal hose or hose quick connect.

The Zzz-PAP will not work with the O2 Enrichment Adapter that we sell on CPAP.com.

Very Impressed   August 02, 2008

(5 out of 5) by George M, OCEANSIDE, CA

"I cannot believe how quiet the unit is. The only noise I hear before going to sleep is the vent in the mask. I am very pleased."

Zzz-Pap 'Silent Traveler ' CPAP Machine   July 29, 2008

"The small size is really nice. The carrying bag can be smaller so that it takes up less space in my luggage."

July 29, 2008

(4 out of 5) by Duke D, Antioch, TN

"The unit is quite until you start using it. The audible resistance noise when you exhale creates the sound of amplified breathing. This can be unsettling for those with the user or the user themselves. I will use it when I travel alone. The amplified wheezing respiration sound drives my wife crazy."

Breathing Better   July 26, 2008

(4 out of 5) by Jason Y, New York, NY

"This was my first CPAP purchase. I bought the unit to speed up the process of getting on CPAP and to be used as a travel machine after the insurance company eventually gets me a machine.

It's pretty quiet, I barely notice the noise and it's on the night stand right next to my head. My setting is 10cm, and it seems to provide pretty consistent pressure. I have noticed that if the tube gets disconnected, the machine ramps up to full power and gets kinda noisy, but it's nice and quiet when everything is working right.

Menu structure is pretty straight forward. I think the on-off button could be a little bigger, I like to turn the machine on and off while I'm connected to avoid blowing air while setting it up.

Overall, I'd say it's a pretty good little machine. The price is right, and the unit and humidifier set came with a nice travel bag. The inlet filter is just a little foam thing, I'd really appreciate a HEPA filter, but I can't seem to find that on any machine. I bought it for travel, but it's good as an every night machine as well."

(5 out of 5) by Laurence B, Memphis, TN

"This is a great machine! very quiet and works well. I highly recomend it. Much smaller than the cpap I have now but work just as good. Will be nice when I travel on the weekends and vacations. A must have!"
