In general, you should replace your AirSense 10 Air Filter every 3 to 6 months. We recommend inspecting the filter every 2 weeks and using your finger to lightly flick the filter to remove some of the dust and allergens trapped in it.
If you’re sensitive to airborne allergens or own pets, you’ll likely need to replace your filter every 3 months. If you’re not sensitive to airborne allergens or don’t own pets, your filter is likely to last much longer and should be replaced around 6 months of use.
To change the filter on your AirSense 10 CPAP machine, follow these steps:
Compared to standard air filters, hypoallergenic air filters are much finer and stop a higher number of dust particles. They are also capable of stopping smaller dust particles than the standard air filter. If you frequently experience allergy symptoms, own pets, or are allergic to polyester, the hypoallergenic filter is a better option for you.
Standard Air Filter:
Hypoallergenic Air Filter:
AirSense 10 filters are disposable rather than reusable, so cleaning them is neither required nor recommended. However, it’s a good idea to check your filter every 2 weeks and gently flick it with your finger to remove some of the trapped dust and allergens. If your filter is over 1-3 months old and has significantly darkened, grayed, or otherwise changed color, it may be a good idea to replace it.
