Key Product Information

    Manufacturer: Resmed

The Mirage Activa LT was designed for CPAP users who want a hassle-free mask that is easy to fit, comfortable, and provides a secure seal for restless sleepers. Improvements include the MicroFit dial, new compact ActiveCell technology, new diffusion vent and a dual-wall cushion that now comes in three sizes. The overall design is streamlined to be a smaller, quieter and better performing nasal mask than the original Activa.

ActiveCell Technology accommodates movement during sleep, which results in fewer mask leaks for restless sleepers. The bubble-like membrane surrounding the dual-wall cushion expands and contracts to varying pressures and allows for different sleeping positions during the night. The new ActiveCell membrane is less cumbersome than the original, but still prevents CPAP users from over-tightening the mask headgear to create a secure seal. A looser fitting mask reduces pressure points and prevents red marks.

The MicroFit dial allows CPAP users to find the right fit using 24 small incremental adjustments. The dual-wall cushion and forehead move in tandem as the dial is turned. This design is intended to address difficultly with "first time" fittings and also helps prevent the need to over-tighten headgear.

ResMed has created the dual-wall cushions in three new sizes: Medium, Large, and Large Wide. These new sizes are designed to fit the widest range of faces.

The Activa LT also comes with a new diffusion vent that disperses air softly and quieter than before. The exhalation ports are configured in a circular design that greatly reduces the audible sound of exhaled air and redirects the airflow away from your bed partner.

The headgear comes with quick clips that allow for fast and convenient removal of the mask without the need to re-adjust.

The ConvertAble Series is a new ResMed concept that allows cushions to interchange with other masks. The SoftGel frame and Activa LT frames are identical in size. The ActivaCell or DoubleGel cushion will work with either mask.

There are two frame sizes between the SoftGel and Activa LT masks. The size small is the only system that cannot change mask sizes. We recommend the following conversion equivalent chart.

  • Small Activa LT and Small SoftGel masks only accept Small size cushions - there currently is not a SoftGel size small

  • Size Medium/Large/Large Wide Masks will fit either DoubleCell or ActiveCell cushion in any size other than Small
The Mirage SoftGel is built around the Activa LT frame, If you would like to purchase the DoubleGel cushion separately, please visit:

DoubleGel Cushion for SoftGel Nasal CPAP Mask.

If you are currently using the Original Activa Mask and want to purchase the Activa LT, we recommend the following conversion equivalent.

  • Standard Activa size Standard = Activa LT size Medium
  • Standard Activa size Shallow = Activa LT size Large-Wide

  • Standard Activa size Large = Activa LT size Large

For help with selecting the proper size cushion, use ResMed's
Activa LT Sizing Guide.

The Mirage Activa LT no longer uses the 10 inch Inlet air tube that extends your hose away from the mask. The Inlet tube for the Original Activa Nasal CPAP Mask can be found here:

Inlet Tube with Swivel Assembly

Headgear for the Mirage Activa LT comes packaged with the ResMed Standard Size 16117. If you are referencing ResMed's Component Card from their website you will be ordering a headgear and clips different from the style that came with your Activa LT. ResMed Headgear 60114 Standard will work with the Activa LT, but the mask clips, part number 60115, that come with this headgear are incorrect. Please order these ResMed Headgear Clips (16569) to work with your Activa LT.

General Product Advisory:

  • Activa LT cushions and clips are compatible with the Original Activa Frame, but are not EXACT replacements

  • The Activa LT frame is slightly smaller than the Original Activa mask frame; do not mix and match cushion clips

  • Activa LT cushions work in conjunction with other Activa LT improvements; We recommend using the entire Active LT mask

Disappointing   October 20, 2009

(1 out of 5) by J Kenneth

"I use the Mirage Activa Nasal Mask and love everything about it so I tried the Activa LT Nasal Mask hoping it would be even better. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the LT. For me it is not an improvement but a failure. I used it only 2 nights with poor results and a deep mark on my nose (at least it did not have time enough to cause an open sore). Nothing about the LT is an improvement over the Activa. The seal is not good. It causes excessive pressure on the bridge of my nose. The hose connection squeeks and is too close to my chin. The strap connectors are difficult to operate. All of those problems do not exist on the Activa but do on the Activa LT. ResMed might consider improving the Activa by leaving it as it is with one addition - add the dial for the forehead pad to the existing 4-position angle and position adjuster while leaving the 4-position adjustment in place. Too bad about the dis-improvements in the LT as they made the mask unwearable for me. At least I bought the return insurance so I shipped the LT mask back today. I'm sticking with my current Activa."

It moves with you   October 13, 2009

(5 out of 5) by susan f, houston , TX

"I have been so pleased with my new nasal mask the Mirage Activa Lt.

I have purchased many mask in search of one that fit. I sleep on my stomach and am a restless sleeper. I was having 11 .3 episodes of apnea/hr with all the mask I tried. I had 6 sleep studies and on the last one was shown the Mirage. They only had it in a large but I opted to try it anyway. Well the tech didn't need to wake me for anything at all and I had zero (0) episodes of apnea. I can't tell you how comfortable this mask is. I have only used it for a little over a week but am doing so well. My Dr. is very pleased too."

"The harness has a crossover strap that helps limit shirting/loosening during use. An excellent feature.

The quick release is different from the last mirage & is not "intuitive". The former required a natural thumb & index finger pinch to release -- the present requires only a touch, but the button is not readily found [especially when befuddled from sleep]."

"Great product. The 3 things I like the most is there is no leaking out of the mask, the velcro straps are actually sized up so that there is no excess going beyond the designated area and the air vent noise is minimal to almost none. Girlfriend commented how much quieter it was with this mask over my previous one."
