This is a bilevel machine which differs from a CPAP in that it switches back and forth between two pressure levels, one higher and one lower, rather than providing one continuous pressure level. The pressure upon inhalation is higher to hold the airway open, but as the user exhales, the pressure drops to a preset lower level. A bilevel machine responds well to people with very high CPAP pressure needs, weak chest wall muscles, lung disease or other health problems that keep them from being able to exhale against a CPAP pressure. Bilevel is the generic term to describe these machines. BiPAP®, for Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure, is registered with Respironics; ResMed uses VPAP® for Variable Positive Airway Pressure.
The Respironics BiPAP Pro 2 Bilevel machine includes the following features:
BiFlex technology provides pressure relief at the end of inhalation and at the beginning of exhalation for easier, more natural breathing.
Digital Auto-Trak Sensitivity technology adjusts the cycle between inspiratory and expiratory pressures to match an individual’s breathing rhythm.
Encore Pro SmartCard compatibility records compliance and session data.
Automatic start and stop operation.
Mask leak compensation.
Mask off alarm.
Automatic altitude compensation adjustment.
International power supply to operate on any AC current from 110 to 240 without adjustment to the machine. (An adapter may be needed to plug the CPAP into a wall outlet outside the US.)
DC operation with inverter; Direct DC cable will be available in the future.
Two washable, reusable pollen filters are included, as well as one optional ultra-fine filter.
Two year manufacturer warranty against defects.

Our Comments
The BiPAP Pro 2 is an upgrade of the BiPAP Pro. It has been redesigned to integrate with the REMstar Heated Humidifier as the REMstar line of CPAPs does. It is a great bilevel machine and the additional purchase of the Encore Pro software and card reader will provide information on mask leaks, apnea/hypopnea and snoring events.
(The price of this unit does not include the humidifier as shown in the Product Images below, but we do offer a package of the two items elsewhere on our site.)
Bilevel machines come with a six foot hose, a travel bag and manuals. Masks are not included and must be purchased separately. We will be happy to help you with sizing and offer suggestions on current popular masks.

"I have rented the same model for the past 3 years and found it very helpful for good sleep. I decided to buy my own and it is working as well as the rental in every way."

BiPAP Pro With Bi-Flex

"This is a replacement machine for one I had stolen, I guess they are more popular than I thought. It is exactly like my old machine except for the insertable reader card. (The duplicate of my old machine was not in stock so cpap.com upgraded me to this model at no extra charge.) This machine and the technology employed to vary air pressures is incredible. It seems just a bit quieter than my old machine and it works great, right out of the box."
Cpap for uncle

"I purchased the machine for my uncle in Mexico. My experience with your company was very good. You responded to my emails quickly and when the order finally went through (you needed a precription that took some time for us to get from Mexico) I received the machine shortly afterwards. My uncles son was here at the time, so he took it back to Mexico with him. The handy case was excelent for this purpose. I trust my uncle will be very happy with the machine. He rented on to see if the results would merit purchasing one, and the doctor highly recomended it.
Thank you for your excelent customer service.
Sincerely,
Maria E Torres for Alfonso Olaiz"
