EncoreViewer 2.0 Software for Respironics Machines

"I waited to buy this since I have 3 computers in my home. Mine are both 64 bit systems and my wife has a 32 bit system. Trying to allow her computer to remain HER private computer I elected to not buy until they offered 64 bit compatibility. I read from every single source, block, forum etc that I was out of luck. My wife was SO tired of hearing me complain, she ordered me to buy it & use her computer since I am facing heart surgery and she wants me to KNOW what is going on with my APAP machine since my heart has already been damaged.
The product arrived quickly and I installed it on her computer and played around with it to try to get familiar & understand it. Before I review the actual software, let me tell you how you CAN MAKE THIS WORK PERFECTLY ON ANY 64 BIT COMPUTER! First, all 3 of our computers re running Windows 7 Premium.
1-I went to my wife's computer and clicked on "My Computer"
2-Clicked on drive "C"
3-Clicked on "Program Files"
4-Scrolled till I found a folder titled "Respironics"
5- Right click on this folder and choose "COPY"
6-Plug in any USB drive, thumb drive, whatever you have that can store files!
7- Take this copied Respironics folder and drag and drop it to that waiting drive
*Can you guess what is next?*
8-Now take that USB device (whatever it is) and connect it to your 64 bit computer
9-Now find that file called Respironics and right click to "COPY" the folder again
10-Now go into your program files on your 64 bit computer & "PASTE" (or drag & drop) this RESPIRONICS folder into your 64 bit programs directory

***Guess what....This software will now work PERFECTLY on your 64 bit computer! Piece of cake***
I also opened this new Respironics folder and scrolled down till I found the EXE. file called "EncoreViewer" and right clicked to "Create Shortcut". I then placed this shortcut onto my desktop.

That simple. It works flawlessly on all 3 of my computers without a single glitch. Now about the software. When you open it to use it you will see a "Help" button and I use it a LOT. I am fairly computer savvy but new to CPAP/APAP (just 4 weeks in). So I have to really spend a ton of time in the help menus since I am so unfamiliar. In 3 days with the software, I was able to change my machines settings to by day #4 get MY AHI level clear down to .2! (Yes, that is POINT 2, not 2.0) I was completely lost at first trying to make sense of this software but within just 4 days I am almost completely at home with it. I find it actually 100% AS IMPORTANT as my machine. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5? 2 reasons. I feel it should come INCLUDED with my machine. And last, because I feel they should readily acknowledge it CAN be made to work easily on 64 bit computers. I would tell anyone to buy this as I feel it is as useful in saving your life as your machine itself...."

"The EncoreViewer 2.0 software is nice to have if you have a Phillips Respironics System One xPAP machine. It gives you the data that the machine's leading competitor, Resmed S9 shows the user on the screen, plus a bit more.

I scored this just 3 stars because I think the price is a little high for data that should have been available to the user without having to spend an extra 100 bucks. Or, at the very least, this software should have been included with the machine. Information about leak rates, contributors to AHI, and pressures are all vital to being an active participant in your sleep apnea therapy.

NOTE: It is my understanding that this software does not currently work with 64 bit machines or Macs."

"Software does not give you all the data stored on the card (only the last 7 days or so). It stopped working about a year after I bought it. I went with an open source version after that, which worked great."

"As we move into the Windows 8 era, this product DOES NOT WORK with Windows 7 on a $600.00 laptop.
Seriously needs updating. Could be done more easily and less expensively if you ditch the disc and just deliver it in a download."

"This is an good little program for viewing your CPAP data. It can really help you determine, for example, if your new mask is not working because it's leaking, or you are just having a bad week. Note however that if you have a newish computer (such as Windows 7 64bit) and an oldish CPAP (like an M-series), you will need to be a moderate to advanced computer user to get this software running. The included installer will not work. You may want to wait for Respironics to update the software."
