The FitLife Total Face CPAP Mask with Headgear by Philips Respironics covers the entire face, including the eyes. It may be a consideration for users who were unable to tolerate or find success with other mask types. The FitLife Total Face Mask is available in three sizes: Small, Large and Extra Large.

    Product Features

The FitLife is an alternative to conventional nasal or full face CPAP masks. The seal wraps around the outer most perimeter of your face. This moves the pressure off the cheeks and nose, allowing the soft silicone cushion to fit quickly and evenly for maximum comfort.

Air pressure from the system inflates the soft, flexible sealing layer, which minimizes leaks while providing optimal airflow through the nasal passages. The cushion is over-molded to provide a seamless seal for air pressure to circulate throughout the mask and allow for more natural, comfortable breathing.

The mask comes with easy-to-use snap clips that do not need readjusting when removing or installing.

FitLife Headgear is designed to support and stabilize the mask. The color of the headgear varies between black, pale blue and dove gray. The back of the headgear may or may not have a cutout. Per the manufacturer, these variances do not affect the performance of the product.

    • Size Small mask comes packaged with the size Small Headgear.

    Important Tips

Where do I find the size?

    The cushion is not replaceable.

The mask frame does not have an identifiable size because the unit is sold as one piece. To find the size of the unit, look for the marking on the cushion. With the mask turned upside down, look at the flat bottom of the cushion, where the frame connects to the silicone. A large circle with a letter is found directly in the middle of the bottom of the cushion. The letter indicates the size of the entire unit.

    Fit and Sizing Guides

Currently, the manufacturer is packaging this mask with a light blue/grey headgear rather than a black headgear. There may be an opening at the back of the headgear. Whether or not there is an opening, the headgear will function as it should, as per the manufacturer.

Adults only mask with headgear. Two sizes fits most adults. NOT for side sleepers but work well for users on their back.

Early models of the FitLife Full Face Mask came with two elbows. The blue elbow is an alternative Non-Ventilated elbow. Use this only with a ventilator equipped with adequate alarms and safety systems for ventilator failure. A typical CPAP device will not have adequate alarms and safety systems.

The Headgear for FitLife Total Face CPAP Masks come in three sizes:
    Small - Part Number 1060807
    Large - Part Number 1060808
Extra Large - Part Number 1089990
The Small FitLife comes packaged with the small headgear, the Large FitLife comes package with the large headgear and the Extra Large FitLife comes packaged with the extra large headgear. Colors vary and do not affect the function of the headgear. The headgear may or may not have a cutout on the back head strap, performance is not affected by this design change.

Swivel Note: In some instances, the swivel that attaches to the elbow on the Fitlife mask to connect a CPAP hose comes packaged unattached. Simply attach the swivel by snapping to the elbow and then connect the hose for use.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why might I need a total face mask?
There are special circumstances or needs for this mask such as a patient who leaks air out of the corner of their eyes or have a facial condition preventing the use of a nasal or full face mask. Like a full face mask, a total face mask equalizes pressures for even delivery of treatment. However, this mask encompasses the entire face to cover all opening on the face where air might escape, such as the eyes.

How do I care for my mask?
Masks should be washed daily with warm water and gentle soap or baby shampoo. Let the mask air dry. Never use antibacterial soap as it will break down the silicone of the mask cushion. Avoid soaps that include lotion which can coat the mask and cause it to lose its seal. A safe cleaner is the Control III Disinfectant CPAP Cleaning Solution. Remember, going to bed with a clean face will improve your seal and protect the lifespan of your mask. Citrus Mask Wipes
The best time to clean your mask is in the morning after use. This removes the oils left behind from your skin which can reduce the lifespan of your mask. We recommend using Mask Wipes to make daily morning cleaning easy. The mask wipes are made from materials that will not break down your mask.
    Citrus Mask Wipes
How often should I replace my mask?
Medicare allows for mask cushion replacement every three (3) months, and a complete mask system replacement every six (6) months. CPAP manufacturers and vendors suggest these replacement schedules as well.

In our experience, most mask cushions begin to deteriorate after about six months of use. The cushion eventually becomes too soft to hold a seal. The headgear straps lose elasticity and must be tightened more and more to get the same quality seal.

We strongly suggest replacing cushions and pillows as soon as they start to soften. Air leaks may reduce the effectiveness of CPAP therapy and headgear that is too tight may cause facial sores at pressure points. In most cases, replacement headgear is available if it is stretched out or the Velcro worn out.

To see what parts of your mask are replaceable refer to our Replacement Part Finder. Just search for your mask to see all of the replaceable parts.
Which CPAP masks work on which machines?
All CPAP masks work with all CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP machines.

Why might I prefer a nasal mask?
The ideal CPAP mask is not noticeable to the user during CPAP therapy. If you breathe through your nose only, the nasal mask may offer the best therapy. Nasal cushions create a very good seal around your nose, while keeping a small profile. Also, nasal masks can be found in both silicone or gel material. The SleepWeaver masks are the only cloth masks on the market, and are a very popular choice among nasal mask users. Lastly, most nasal masks have a forehead support which offers stability and support for the mask.
