"My original chamber leaked frequently over a course of two years. In two weeks of use, this replacement has leaked only once. It probably was my fault due to not seating the aluminum base properly: however, I am not a careless person. I believe that the base/chamber interface should be more "user friendly" and make a positive seal that "signals" (ie. with a click or some other indication) that the seal is watertight. I disassemble and clean the chamber every night as instructed. This gives me plenty of opportunities to make a mistake. A leaking chamber can ruin furniture or create an electrical hazard."

"Recently ordered the water chamber for the Remstar since the seal on the bottom plate of mine had worn sufficiently to permit it to leak. The service from cpap.com was great (in fact, recommended them last night to a friend who has a cpap)and was eager to try the new style of water chamber. As some other reviewers noted, the new design results in a noisier chamber due to the venting air. I also noticed at the end of the 1st night that the water level in the chamber had not decreased. I also had far more trouble falling asleep due both to the noise and a sense of not getting enough air. I left the water in for 3 nights to monitor the amount used and the level didn't drop. Maybe a defective flapper valve, but on the 4th night of little sleep, I put the new bottom on the old top and am quite satisfied. **** out of ***** because I am happy to 'repair' the water leakage problem, and at a very reasonable cost, but wish I could just buy the bottom plate. As for the new and improved?? chamber top, I wish they'd left well enough alone!"
