The great people at Snugglehose are happy to introduce an all organic, all natural buckwheat hull pillow.
Buckwheat hulls are an ideal stuffing for CPAP users who require a conforming pillow that does not trap heat during the night. For most CPAP users, microfibers and memory foam absorb and reflects body heat while you sleep. Buckwheat hulls allow air to circulate within the pillow while providing proper support for your head and neck.
Pillow firmness is easily adjusted. Snugglehose overfills every pillow to achieve an "extra firm" feel. If you prefer less support, simply unzip and remove a portion of the buckwheat hulls until you achieve the desired comfort level. To clean the pillow cover, remove all the hulls and machine wash the 100% cotton material.

"I have tried a few options for CPAP sleeping and this one is the best so far. As many others did, I took some of the hulls out as they do stuff it pretty full to accommodate everyone.
The biggest boon for those side sleepers among us is the ability to carve out a trough or slot that is just perfect for the mask that is on that night and have it stay put without it being obtrusive in shape."
Best pillow ever used

"I now use this pillow all the time - even without CPAP. It works great with my masks and is the most comfortable pillow I have ever used. I expect I will always use this pillow."
Buckwheat Hull Pillow
Betsy D, TX – February 27, 2011
"I didn't think I would like this pillow when I received it. I took out some of the hulls and gave it a try. The smell wasn't pleasant to me, so I added a lavender sachet packet. After a few weeks I decided I didn't like it and I would stop using it, but I had to get up the first night and go get it so I could sleep. I never sleep without it now. It gives wonderful head support that doesn't go flat. I don't toss and turn all night as I used to do. Also, I have had a shoulder that hurts when I lie on my side (my preferred position). This has been a problem for years and is probably one of the reasons I tossed and turned so much. After sleeping on my buckwheat pillow for a couple of months I realized that my shoulder does not even hurt any more. I had it for about six months now and just love the restful sleep I get when I use it. I wish I had a zippered pillow protector and a pillow case that fit it. The pillowcase that comes with it could be improved on. In any case, it gets 5 stars now and I won't go to bed without it."
My New Best Friend!
Michael H, AZ – September 01, 2010
"This a great pillow for use with a CPAP mask. I did end up removing some of the buckwheat as, true to their advertisement, they did really fill it up!
This pillow provides comfortable support and it is easy to travel with."
I sleep on my side or stomach, what are my options?
Sleeping on your side or stomach is preferable to sleeping on your back because sleeping on your back worsens all forms of sleep-disordered breathing. However, sleeping on your side or stomach can present problems to CPAP therapy. Both positions can put pressure on one side of your mask increasing your leak rate. Your options are to (1) try a mask that other side sleepers like (2) try bed pillows made for CPAP users.
Masks: We have found some masks allow for movement in sleeping position better than others. See our recommended masks for Active or Side/Stomach Sleepers.
Special CPAP Pillows: Regular bed pillows can put pressure against the mask and cause leaks. CPAP pillows are made with CPAP users in mind. These special pillows are designed to minimize the contact of the CPAP mask with the pillow, even when you are sleeping on your side.
