What special advice do you have for Sleep Therapy users?
Keep a log near your machine to make notes on your treatment. Have you ever had a great nights sleep, but then could not remember what settings you used? Documenting your therapy can provide evidence to you and your doctor about what works best. To keep equipment clean and healthy, log when you clean and replace your equipment.
How can I get my mask to fit as comfortably as possible?
Many CPAP users fit their mask with their machine off, while sitting in bed. I recommend putting your mask on with your set pressure blowing, while laying flat in bed. Once your mask is in place, tighten each strap a little bit at a time to avoid over tightening one side and getting a lopsided fit.
If this doesn't help you achieve a proper fit, you may need a different mask. The new Help Me Choose feature on our site makes product recommendations based on your needs and preferences.
How do I choose from a list of product recommendations?
Again, the Help Me Choose feature is great at recommending products. From there, I remind customers about the customer reviews. Just click on the product you are interested in, and then click on the "Customer Reviews" tab. Here you can read detailed reviews from customers like you who have already purchased the product. If you are still unsure, buy the return insurance which allows you to return a mask no questions asked, within 30 days. Once you have made a purchase, don't forget to leave your review!
Why should I get an APAP?
APAPs are wonderful because they actually adjust your pressure needs with each breath you take. Unlike a CPAP which provides a constant pressure through out the night, an APAP delivers the minimal pressure needed to keep your airway open on a breath by breath basis.
Even if your prescription says "CPAP", you can still purchase an APAP. Click here to learn more about APAPs vs CPAPs.
Ever heard of a CPAP high?
A CPAP High is the rush of energy and feeling of euphoria a new CPAP user may get when they start therapy. The high comes from finally getting a quality nights sleep.
