Effective CPAP therapy can be confusing.
Here we answer your top questions about humidification and masks.
Top FAQs About CPAP Humidifiers
Why should I use a humidifier
for my CPAP treatment?
CPAP air can be an irritant to most people, adding humidification creates moisture and makes therapy more tolerable.
Does my machine come
with a humidifier?
Not all machines have a built-in humidifier. If you need a humidifier, stand alone and integrated humidifiers are usually the best option.
When do I need to
replace my humidifier?
Mineral deposit buildup in your humidifier can be unsanitary and irritate nasal passages, so it’s recommended to replace every 6-12 months.
Do I need a prescription
for a humidifier?
Yes. Federal law requires it. Don’t have it? No problem, just log into your CPAP.com account and ask us to get your prescription. We do this for free!
Top FAQs About CPAP Masks
How do I choose a mask
that is right for me?
We first recommend choosing a mask based on your nightly breathing style. A full face mask will be a good choice for mouth breathers and a nasal mask is popular for nose breathers. Next, choose a mask based on your lifestyle, read this article for help.
How do I stop mask leaks
when I'm asleep?
Air leaking into the eyes or at the base of the nose is usually an indication that the mask is too big. Masks can also deteriorate and become too soft to hold a seal. Using our Citrus II Mask Wipes when cleaning will help reduce the degradation of your seal.
When do I need to
replace my mask?
Different parts of your mask need to be replaced about every 6 months. Visit our part finder and select your mask to see a list of replacement parts.
What if I don’t like
my purchased mask?
No problem! Most of our masks have optional return insurance that will let you try a mask for 30 days and if you don’t like it, return it for a full price refund.
