America,
Tax season may be the biggest headache of all, but keeping great records throughout the year of all assets and accounts will help you sleep better come April 15. As the tax filing deadline approaches, pull out your CPAP receipts, and lets audit your current CPAP equipment and ensure great sleep throughout the year.
Cushions & Pillows
Replace: Every 6 months
Reason: Cushions breakdown and lose seal over time. Frequent cleanings with proper disinfectants like the Control III will increase the life of your cushion.
Headgear
Replace: Every 6-9 moths.
Did you know? Over time, headgear stretches out and may prevent your mask from obtaining a proper seal.
CPAP Tubing
Replace: Every year.
Reason: Mineral deposits build up over time and can compromise air quality and delivery.
Humidifier Chambers
Replace: Every 6-12 months.
Did you know? Using distilled water and emptying your chamber each morning will increase the life of your chamber.
Reusable Filters
Replace: Every 6 months.
Reason: New filters mean cleaner, higher quality air intake.
Fine Filters
Replace: Every month.
Did you know? Fine filters can’t be washed, only replaced.
Go here to print off the replacement schedule and keep it for your records to get ahead of future audits.

how often is it recommened you replace the machine its self
Paul,
Insurance will cover a replacement machine once every five years, but many find they will need to replace more frequently, as soon as two years.
We recommend changing the filters frequently to help improve the life of your machine.
Hope that helps. If you have any other questions, let us know!
One home remedy is sweing a tennis ball into the back of your pajama top, which is supposed to prevent you from lying flat on your back. Losing weight can sometimes help, but that is more of a long-term solution. There are also some medical treatments, like special bite blocks that keep your jaw aligned in a better position, plain oxygen (maybe there are nasal cannulas that you are not allergic to), or even surgery. You might also find out about alternative CPAP masks maybe they make some that you are not allergic to. Good luck in finding something that works for you.
Home remedies are always fun to think of 🙂 We’ve seen a few of those posted from people at http://www.cpaptalk.com. If you have an issue and needing a solution, feel free to reach out to one of our experts at 1-800-356-5221. Likely, we’ll have something to offer or we’d be interested in hearing more about it if we haven’t heard of the situation before!
