Concur about fragility

"I must concur with several of the other reviewers who have mentioned the fragility of this particular part. This is the third such piece I've had to order in two years. It also tends to crack along the seam joining the two halves of the shell together, and particularly around where the adjustment knob is located, making it very difficult to patch. The resulting leak can be quite loud and disruptive to sleep. One must take special care not to overtighten the adjustment knob; I think this may be the major contributing cause of this particular failure. However, if the knob isn't tight enough, the shell's position can slip during the night and compromise the nose pillow seal. It's a delicate balancing act. I would recommend that Breeze users have at least one of these parts ordered as a backup. It WILL eventually break, probably before any other part of the unit.
I still plan to continue using the Breeze. I find it to be more comfortable than a standard mask, but it does indeed need to be sturdier. I would think that a few more grams of plastic would affect how it feels. I am also somewhat dismayed at the cost of this replacement part -- it's difficult to imagine that just a few more dollars can get you an entirely new Breeze unit."

Pillow Shell & Exhaust Vent

"As mentioned by others this item is not strong enough. This is the third one that I have had to purchase. It is not strong enough and breaks easily. Having to use a CPAP machine is bad enough without having to add to it financially every time that an item breaks.
But, as for the company that I purchased it from....they are fantastic.....very accommodating."

Poor Design
September 16, 2008
(2 out of 5) by Christopher G, El Mirage, AZ
"While the product works well, the design is very poor. The whole portion of the nasal mask is held on the headstrap by a thin strip of plastic. This strip of plastic is prone to snapping in two, which it did one night for me. And when that happens, there is no temporary repair that will keep it together. This forces you to buy another, which can & will break again."

Nasal pillow shell and exhaust vent

"I like the design and it fit pretty well but this peice is a little fragile. I have to buy a new one every year because it generally breaks off of the protrusion that slides up the other part of the gear. Also the adjustment wheel breaks. If those two parts were beefed up a little it would help. I thought maybe put a rubber component in with the plastic so it would not be so brittle. Otherwise it works well for me."
