Thank you to everyone who registered and those of you selected to participate in this CPAPtalk.com Product Challenge! The sixth installment of the Product Challenge was initiated by CPAPtalk.com to explore the differences between conventional CPAP hoses and Respironics Performance tubing. We knew that the Respironics tubing was lighter and thinner than standard tubing and well reviewed by CPAP.com customers. However, the 6 foot hose remained a CPAP.com strong seller. Was this the result of true CPAP user preference or simply habit? We set off to find out! 444 CPAP users signed up to participate in this Product Challenge. From this group, we selected 50 current users of the CPAP.com 6 Foot Hose to receive a complimentary Respironics Pure White 6 Foot Performance CPAP/BiPAP Tubing. After a two week trial period, participants were asked to fill out a detailed survey. The 50 participants' detailed responses were excellent and we strongly encourage you to read them all. Our goal at CPAPtalk is to provide manufacturers with unbiased trials that lead to significant improvements in CPAP equipment. To this end, each Product Challenge contains some of our own thoughts and observations about the results. All manufacturers are encouraged to read both sections to gain a better insight into the needs and preferences of CPAP users. Product Challenges are administered in a professional and impartial manner with rules against manufacturer contact, discussions or disclosures presented on CPAPtalk.com during the trial period. The software powering each Product Challenge is designed to collect and compile results in an automated fashion to ensure they are not tampered with and are free of result compilation errors. We believe that each Product Challenge is an industry changing event. It allows CPAP users to make their voices heard. It provides the CPAP industry with a standardized measure of patient product satisfaction. We envision a future where all serious CPAP equipment is Product Challenged extensively. Results from these trials will give CPAP users better information on product quality and comfort levels and hopefully give manufacturers valuable feedback about their products and ways to improve them. CPAP manufacturers should contact us promptly to schedule their challenge as slots are limited. There is no expense to the manufacturer to conduct a product challenge save for the equipment they provide. This keeps our product challenges unbiased and impartial. We will announce future results through this CPAP.com newsletter and on the Product Challenge section of CPAPtalk.com. Please check back often to enroll and receive free CPAP gear in exchange for your feedback. |
