"I do like the way the ICON water chamber can be easily removed from the unit for filling. That is a good design but I don't like the statement that it can't be disassembled. The chamber needs to be cleaned at intervals and the best way to do that is to disassembled it. F&P says that can't be done but it is possible IMHO. The chamber is in 3 parts (tank, top, gasket). First separate the gasket from the chamber. The top fits onto the tank with mortise and tenon type connections which can be separated with a small tool like a flat blade screwdriver. Gently pry the connectors open on one side and the top can be pulled off. After cleaning the tank, reassembly is simple except that getting the gasket fully into place all around the rim can be tricky. However, once the gasket is set, you just slide the top down into the slots in the side until all are seated in place.
If you have a dishwasher and want to take the time to use it, that is the approved way to clean the chamber (in one piece). I'm just saying there is an alternative."
"cannot use with out putting fingers in reservoir."
Easy to fill and replace
Scott H, TX – October 26, 2012
"Easy to fill and replace. Stores sufficient water for 2 nights for me, this will depend on the relative humidity in the air, and each persons setting though."
