Philips Respironics CPAP machines require a proprietary signal and won't work with just any 12V dc power cord or battery, which is what makes the DreamStation 12V Power Adapter handy to have on hand. This power adapter allows you to use non-Respironics batteries to power your Respironics equipment via your dc input port.

Simply plug one end of the battery adapter cable into your power supply and the other end into your DreamStation series CPAP machine and you're all set!

I ordered the "DreamStation 12V Power Adapter for C-100 & Freedom CPAP Travel Battery Packs" from the cpap.com website. A different cord was sent with another part name and that does *not* have the in-line inverter required to connect the BPS C-100 to a DreamStation2. When I reached customer service in an online chat, I was told that the adaptor I purchased is no longer available through cpap.com, and to send the other part back. They did return my purchase amount, but I did not receive a return authorization number or a post paid label to correct their mistake.

I got a new CPAP machine after 9 years and the technology changed which doubled the electrical requirements. This made my $200+ Freedom battery into an anchor. This new adapter converted the power to the correct voltage (with corresponding lower use time) and allowing me to use it during power outages. I bought the Battery three years ago and have been happy with it. I look forward to a quantum leap in battery capacity. until then this freedom battery is the way to go. I am ALWAYS sure to use a Surge Protector to protect my investment (battery ($200 + CPAP $900). Also, a Sine Wave UPS may sound redundant but it assures clean electricity.
