Rainout Reduction Kit
Sorry, this item is no longer available.
Product Overview
I can finally turn the heat down in the bedroom without drowning in condensation! While the cover is definitely crinkly, the snugglehose cover helps with the noise. The kit comes with extra tubing and extra bands, so it will fit any length hose, which I was worried about when ordering. A very good purchase for me, and I highly recommend the kit. more...
Since my problem is condensation only within the facemask and not pooling of water in the hose, the rainout reduction kit did not help my problem. However, installation was easy based on the tips in the instructions. more...

I put this rainout reduction kit on and then a snuggle hose over it. You'd think that would do the trick, right? Nope, last night I woke up feeling like I was drowning! Admittedly, I like it very cool, but I don't think this kit made any difference at all. Additionally, it crinkles a lot! more...

I have had a lot of trouble with rain-out. The soft colored tubing covers made no difference whatsoever. This item makes a huge difference. Only drawback is the crinkley sound it makes when moving it around. But, I adjusted. I've actually been able to sleep all night without waking up to the gurgling sound of water, or having it drip in my face. Great product and will be a permanent one for me during the cool spells. I had no trouble getting it on the tubing, just blow into it to get the entire length opened up and it slides on fairly easily. more...

I have been using the Rainout Reduction Kit SnuggleHose cover for my 8ft hose and the SnuggleHose for my Mirage Swift II for about a month now. I like to keep my bedroom very cool - around 60 degrees when weather and A/C permit - so rain out has been a major problem for me. During this time period, the outside temperture has ranged from mid 50s to 7 or lower. Before these products were put into service, and in the 72 degree temps my A/C could provide, I would awaken several times (3 - 4) each night with the condensation "gurgling" in the hose. I would either have to drain the hose back into the chamber...or if I was "lazy" just let it drain off onto the floor under the bed. Since the installtion of these products, I have not been troubled in any manner with condensation save for a drop or two of water at the hose/mask junction occasionally. This junction is not covered and I am considering adjusting the covers so that it is...however this is such a minor amount of condensation and is not a problem, I have not been inclined to do so. Another effect of this gear is that I have not adjusted the heat level on the humidifyer since the gear has been installed. With the wide temperature range I have been using these products, I would have needed to make adjustments without them. Since the inside temps are more constant, I am guessing that outside temperature affects inside humidity and as the temp drops, I used to have to inncrease heat to maintain comfort. I have not had to do so since these products have been installed. I suspect I could lower the temp and still maintain comfort but I have not experimented with that. DOWNSIDE: Installation of the SnuggleHose is not a "Quick and Easy" task. It is tedious and it will be tedious again when it is removed to clean the hose. INSTALLATION TIP: Installation of the Rainout Reduction Kit plastic sheathing was made much easier when I found I could "seal" the sheathing around the portion of the hose already inserted by grasping it with one hand and then blowing it the end of the hose still outside. This would "inflate" the sheathing ahead of the hose and make pulling the sheathing over the hose for the next few feet much easier. Just repeat this process when needed. Even with the maybe half hour (a guess..I did not time it) installation time for both products, I wholeheartedly recommend these products to anyone who is having problems with condensation. You will have to buy the product because I will not let anyone have mine. I find these products so essential to my comfortable use of my CPAP I plan to buy a second hose, SnuggleHose, and Rainout Reduction Kit so I can clean my hose without needing to have to reinstall that same day. more...
