The wide strap is more comfortable under the chin than the more common cup-type chinstraps. The Deluxe Chinstrap crosses over the ears and will likely feel warmer than other chinstraps to wear.
The strap is nearly impossible to keep in place. It is of no use in preventing mouth from coming open. Total waste of money!
I've tried many different chin straps over the past 20-something years and this is by far the best.
It works as designed.
This chinstrap does a great job and is very comfortable to wear. Its main problem is that it wears out quickly and begins to fail. The culprit is the closure with hook and loop fasteners where only the hook side is included. Instead of providing the loops, one hooks dig into the fabric of the strap itself. While this allows more variability than having a patch with loops to hook into (i.e. there is a lot more area to potentially hook to so more adjustment is available) the material begins to fray from the threads being pulled on by the hooks, and the hooks themselves begin to bend and become less secure.
The chin strap mostly stopped my mouth breathing. (When my nose gets stopped up during the night I start mouth breathing, but that is probably a good thing!) It is comfortable and easy to use.
This chin strap is excellent. I keeps my mouth closed so my wife can sleep. I highly recommend this product.
This used to be my "go to" chinstrap. Now it is much flimsier. In fact it appears to have become the same as the chinstrap that looks similar but is ~$10 more. I was very disappointed.
I have been unable to adjust this in a way that keeps my lower jaw from moving backward. It does permit a wide range of tension and is easy to adjust in small increments while lying down. It is fairly comfortable. Though it is fairly thin, you will notice that your mask is a tighter fit when you wear this. I will keep trying this in hopes it will help solve my high leaks and AHI.
This is a winner hands down; stays in place and you can position it so it works to keep your mouth shut. Very good for being adjustable for comfort and still be very effective.
Yes, this is expensive for a chinstrap. Yes, I finally found a chinstrap that is functional for me! I've only used it for four nights now, but it is working beautifully so far. I can't say enough about the impact it has had. At the price, I hope it lasts for a while before needing replacement. However, I already know that I'll be buying more of these in the future. Thanks CPAP.Com.
This is a great chin strap, but it doesn’t last long. It stretches out and becomes less effective.
I have been using the Deluxe Chinstrap for over 12 years with my Nasal Pillows. Medicare will only replace them every six months. For my large size head the strap only last 3 months before it looses its elasticity. the affordable price from CPAP.COM allows me to replace the chinstrap every three months and doesn't break the bank
