The Respironics M Series line of CPAP, APAP, and BIPAP machines now have a Whisper Cap that lowers the overall volume of sound coming from the machine. The device fits onto your existing Air Intake Port and over the filters.
Respironics internal testing produces sound levels at a 3 dB decrease.
At 5cm the CPAP machine measures 18.2dB
At 10cm the CPAP machine measures 25.3dB
If a Whisper Cap is used on a M Series machine without a heated humidifier, it will not fit if used together with a outlet bacteria filter. If you wish to use both a Whisper Cap and a outlet bacteria filter without a heated humidifier, then you should add a Hose Quick Connect or a M Series Tubing Swivel between the cpap machine and the outlet bacteria filter.
