Softens the Flow of Air Without Decreasing Effectiveness

The V-Com was made to fit right between your CPAP mask and tubing. It resembles a wall-like structure with four holes, which softens airflow when you breathe in but maintains the air pressure when you exhale. This design boosts comfort and makes it much easier to adjust to CPAP therapy!

How Much Resistance V-Com Creates to Airflow
0.3 cm Water 20 LPM
0.6 cm Water 30 LPM
1.1 cm Water 40 LPM
1.7 cm Water 50 LPM
Reduces Air Leaks

By reducing your CPAP air pressure during inhalation, the V-Com reduces the risk of air leaks from your mask and your mouth. A recent study found that this product reduced the need for chinstraps and mouth tape by 85%.* Many people have also reported that this product helps to reduce your chances of swallowing your CPAP air as you sleep.

Decreases the Noise Level Caused by Airflow

People who have used the SleepRes V-Com have reported that it significantly improves the volume of air as it flows from your CPAP machine and into your mask. As a result, the V-Com helps you get a peaceful night of sleep!

Approved for Use With CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP Machines

This device can be paired with Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), Automatic Positive Airway Pressure (APAP), and BiLevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP). V-Com has not yet been tested on Adaptive Servo-Ventilation (ASV) or Average Volume-Adjusted Pressure Support (AVAPS) devices.

Makes Following Through With CPAP Therapy Easier

If you are new to CPAP therapy, adapting to your new routine can be difficult. But by addressing common complaints often associated with CPAP therapy, such as air pressure-related discomfort and noise level, the SleepRes V-Com makes it much easier to stick with your treatment plan. In fact, one recent study found that people who use V-Com with their CPAP are significantly more likely to continue their treatment past the 90-day mark.*

Product Warnings:

You May Need to Increase Your Pressure Setting When Using the V-Com

The SleepRes V-Com may slightly reduce the air pressure coming from your CPAP machine. Speak with your doctor or sleep specialist about increasing your air pressure to ensure your CPAP therapy remains effective.

Be Sure That Your CPAP Machine Is Turned Off Before Setting Up Your V-Com

Do not place your V-Com device while your CPAP machine is running, as this could possibly affect the machine’s ability to register your breathing patterns and may trigger the respiratory event detection system. Always turn your CPAP device off first, place the V-Com accessory between your CPAP tubing and mask, and then turn the machine back on.

V-Com Has Not Been Tested With Adaptive Servo Ventilation

V-Com affects your ability to breathe in while using a positive airway pressure (PAP) machine more than breathing out. As a result, V-Com may decrease pressure support and tidal volume when using a PAP device. For this reason, V-Com has not been tested in adaptive servo-ventilation and other similar devices.

No Prescription Needed

You do not need a prescription to use the V-Com! While you need a prescription for a CPAP machine, you can purchase the V-Com separately, just like any other CPAP accessory.

Setting Up Your V-Com May Take Some Trial and Error

When setting up your V-Com, keep in mind that its exact placement location may depend on the type of CPAP mask you have and your specific equipment style. In some cases, it may be helpful to purchase a short tube extender. Some reviewers have noted that placing your V-Com in the wrong position may make your CPAP machine sound louder. Contact SleepRes or your sleep specialist for more information regarding how to get the most benefits out of your V-Com.

Best for Moderate to Higher Pressure Settings

The V-Com tends to be more effective at moderate to higher pressure settings, starting at 10 cm of water. People who require a lower pressure setting may feel they cannot get enough air.

Instructions for Use

  1. Always be sure that your CPAP machine (or other PAP device) is turned off before setting up your V-Com.
  2. Remove your V-Com from its packaging and insert it between the hose that extends from your CPAP machine and your mask.
  3. Put on your CPAP mask as usual and check to ensure it is fitted properly with a secure seal.
  4. After turning off your CPAP in the morning, disconnect your mask, V-Com, hoses, and tubing.
  5. Clean your V-Com device after each use, per the instructions below.
  6. If you intend to continue using a V-Com device long-term, be sure to replace it every three months.

Cleaning Instructions

  1. Rinse the V-Com with water, then add gentle soap (such as liquid dish soap).
  2. Gently clean the V-Com inside and out with a small, bristled brush.
  3. Be sure to scrub both ends of the device, twisting the brush several times while inside each end of the V-Com.
  4. Rinse with clean water and let air dry.

waste of my money

Verified purchase | Sep. 05, 2023 | Dana S.
This device did not work with my Airfit F30i mask and tubing. It would have been nice if I'd known which tubing/mask setups it was not compatible with before I bought it. I put it on my husband's tubing to his Airfit P30. He took it off after ten minutes saying it slowed the airflow down so much it was nonexistent.
