Important Operation Notes:
Packaging Note: Please note that the battery may come packaged unattached from the white shuttle with blue buttons. The battery can be inserted and connected using the attached velcro on both the battery and battery shuttle.
Prior to First Use: Fully charge the battery prior to the first use of the battery. Follow the manufacturer instructions for charging and storing the battery.
Charging the Battery: The Overnight Battery with attached Shuttle must both be fully inserted into the PowerShell to charge the battery. The Z1 machine is not required to be in the PowerShell to charge the battery. However, battery charge information is available ONLY on the machine display screen. Without the machine, the charge level cannot be determined.
Plug the AC Power Supply into the PowerShell. Plug the power cord into a wall outlet. The charge status of the battery is displayed on the Z1 machine screen using a battery icon with solid bars. When the battery is charging the bars in the battery icon flash. The battery icon stops flashing when the battery is fully charged. The green light on the power supply remains green even when the battery is fully charged. The green light is on any time the power supply is plugged into a wall outlet.
Please Note: When the Z1 CPAP machine and battery are in the PowerShell and plugged into a wall outlet, the battery will charge ONLY when the CPAP machine is OFF. The battery will NOT charge if the CPAP machine is turned on and blowing.
Backup Battery Configuration:
Please Note: In a situation where a power outage is expected but not certain, the battery can be used as a failover. While AC power is available the battery will not loose life cycles.
The Z1 Travel CPAP machines can be connected to the OPTIONAL Powershell and to AC power without causing the lifespan of the battery to decrease. The battery is designed to provide AC power to the machine while it is available, and transition immediately to DC power from the battery if AC power should fail. Once AC power is restored, the battery will begin providing that power to the machine again.
PowerShell & Battery Charge Bars:
- 1 Solid bar = 10-25% charge remaining
- 2 Solid bar = 25-50% charge remaining
- 3 Solid bar = 50-75% charge remaining
- 4 Solid bar = 75-100% charge remaining
Solar Charge: At this time the Z1 Machine and PowerShell CANNOT be charged using solar power. The manufacturer is working towards a solar charge solution, an expected date is not available.
This product is for use only with the Z1 CPAP Machine. It is not compatible with any other machines.
