If you purchase the ResMed Power Station II Kit for S9 Machines AND if you also buy a second back up battery, you will need this!!! It allows you to connect the two batteries in series so that when your first battery runs out of power, the Kit automatically switches to your second battery. The entire set up (Kit, second battery, etc.) is pricey, but worth it for one's safety and peace of mind. And the entire set up is compact and can travel easily with you. It's great for camping, back up power, and any time you don't have access to a power outlet. This coupler is absolutely necessary if you want to get the most out of your Power Station Kit, but only if you have two batteries. It's not needed if you only have the Kit, which only has one battery.
