All machines can connect to DC power. Some machines are configured to operate on DC Power and have a DC power outlet. Other machines require AC power and will need an Inverter that turns DC power to AC power.
Having the proper equipment is the biggest key to successfully operating the machine from a battery. For example, if your machine does have a DC outlet and you want to run your machine from a marine battery, be sure to get the correct DC cable for the machine, as well as an adapter cable with alligator clips that fits over the cigarette lighter plug.
CPAP.com sells complete battery kits with everything you need for many machines including the correct cables for those machines and batteries. If you have questions about the specific power needs of your machine, review the 'Power' tab found on the machine's product page, or give us a call at 1-800-356-5221.
Very quiet machine. Water chamber takes two hands to operate more easily, but this is not a big issue. Overall, an excellent buy.
I like the water tank better it is easy to fill and have gotten good night sleep every night. Thank you.
This unit took about a week to get used to it. The self regulator starts out much lower pressure than my old unit, another Fisher P unit. I sleep for longer hours, my wife tells me that it is much quieter, and I do less tossing and turning in bed now.
Not the greatest. Machine tend to run away with pressure as compared with other makes. Total system leak rate reported is way to high not a mask issue.
In ten years using a CPAP, this is my first Automatic CPAP. I think my wife is happier than me! Using it about a week now and both of us have been getting great sleep.. She says she doesn't hear it run. I couldn't be any happier with this machine.
Is the best machine I have ever used, easy, simple & quite, very quite. Just a dream machine. Thank you
As part of my sleep study I had a Res-Med Auto machine which gave me valuable information each morning and there is free software avaliable to review more detailed information. Unfortunately the 254 information that is available each morning is inacurate and the Performance Maximiser software is no longer available to the public, so a good machine is compromised. The SensAwake feature is really great. No waking up in the middle of the night due to high pressures, something I experienced regularily with the Resmed machine.
if you are using the cpap in the auto mode and have previously been using a standard one pressure cpap, be sure you get the auto cpap starting pressure set to just a little below the pressure to which you were accustomed. I felt like I was suffocating without enough pressure at 4cm. I have been on cpap for over 20 years at a pressure of 13cm. When my wife finally got the cpap adjusted to an auto range of 10cm-20cm I absolutely love the machine!!!
Easy to use, very similar to my last one. Buying direct and paying for it myself allowed me to own an "unlocked" unit which gives me the option to change the settings if I need to. Needed my last one changed and they wouldn't do it without another sleep study. I've been using one for a long time, I don't need a mother hen who charges large amounts of money to tell me what to do. It was worth the price of the machine for that alone. My only concern with the machine is the way the tube attaches to the water tank. It's a flexible rubber connection instead of hard plastic and I'm a little concerned with how long it will last. Time will tell. I bought this particular machine to see if I could use the automatic mode which adjusts the pressure as needed while you sleep but it made me feel like I was suffocating so I changed it back to continuous mode. If this one lasts as long as my last one (SleepStyle 600, lasted about 7 years) I'll be happy. This one also uses less water than the last one. Distilled water is cheap but over the years it adds up. The water tank empties a lot better too.
I purchased the SleepStyle 254 Auto CPAP machine and have been using it for almost a week now. This unit replaces the HC220LE unit that I've had for about seven years. The 220 heater no longer worked and became much louder over the years. The 254 is extremely quiet. When I first turned it on, my wife wasn't even aware the machine was working. There is a pressure drop of about 1 cmH2O between the setting and the actual reading. This was adjusted by simply increasing the pressure by 1 cmH2O. Everything worked exactly as expected. The old unit had an analog style knob that infinitely adjusted the heat to the water. The new unit is digital and is adjustable in 0.5 increments. I would prefer to see 0.1 increments. It would give the user more precise water addition to the CPAP air. Overall, I would recommend this unit to anyone. It does its job well and is reasonably priced as compared to the original machine. I bought the 254 because I liked the 220. And I like the 254, also.
This is my first CPAP machine, and I am happy with my purchase. It's super quiet. It comes with a handy bag in case you want to travel with it. The only things that I don't like is that there is no ramping feature, so the air comes on at full blast and takes a few moments to get used to while it finds the right pressure. Also, the bag fits the CPAP machine and all its accessories but not the full-face mask.
I have owned a remstar for 15 years and i am so glad i bought this cpap. it is so quite you cant tell it's on and i sleep so much better
