Color Touchscreen

Ramp Plus for Increased Comfort

Great for those that are uncomfortable falling asleep to higher pressures, Ramp Plus allows control over the ramp pressure. Specify the pressure you'd like the machine to provide during the ramp period, and when it completes it will start normal therapy pressures. If an event occurs during the ramp period that requires higher pressure, the machine will increase automatically.

Integrated Built-In Humidifier

Unlike other machines where the addition of a humidifier can make the system much bulkier and unfriendly to travel with, the built-in humidifier component of the DreamStation 2 maintains it's overall manageable footprint so that humidification doesn't have to be sacrificed when traveling.

When I received the unit, I was so excited to have such a small CPAP. I was expecting a somewhat quiet machine. Unfortunately, I couldn't tolerate the airflow noise through the tubing to the mask enough to be able to fall asleep. I contacted the manufacturer and tried switching hoses even with my current full-size competitor unit, as recommended. Regrettably, nothing made this machine usable. I only tried to use it, but never could.

Smaller, quiet, strange water tray

I have two of the Dreamstations that were just recalled. Bought this one to make sure my main home bedroom cpap was good to go. It’s a bit smaller and seem quieter than my old ones. Maybe a bit better looking. But the way you have to remove the water tray in order to fill it almost guarantees that you will spill some water. A strange design. On the plus side, unit uses the same power supply as the old one and can run off of 12v with the right power cord in my RV. Disappointing to see cpap.com almost instantly jack up the price of this unit $300-$400 as the scope of the Philips recall became apparent, especially after they sent a letter saying they were on my side during the recall.

Decent machine - not worlds better than the DreamStation 1, but still a good choice

This was purchased as a stop-gap with the Philips recall. It's more nightstand-friendly, in both size and power cord routing, than the DreamStation and is a fair amount quieter than the DS. Super easy to set up and as the other reviewer stated, the ability to customize the ramp pressure made adjusting to a new machine while it's learning what I need much easier. It will take the same heated tubing as the DS, but no other supplies transfer over, sadly. The main drawback to this machine is that the humidifier chamber is harder to open and fill than the one on the DS. You have to completely remove it and then pop the lid to do so. Getting it slid back on can be a little tricky if you're doing it while exhausted from the day. The unpleasant part of this was the ordering process. This was purchased because of the recall on the day that CPAP.com sent letters out to owners. It was listed for around $899 and then was immediately $1099 when I added it to my cart. After submitting the order, I see that they've increased the price to over $1200 for the unit, very transparently taking advantage of the crisis. This saddens me as a long time customer and it's not something I'm going to be able to easily forget in future orders.

The touch panel is sluggish and not designed for large fingers. The autostart takes much longer time than my Resmed machine did (over 30 secs). The auto stop does not work when you take your mask off. There was no setting in clinical mode to set the auto stop even when cpap.com got me the instructions from Phillips. The instructions did not apply to this machine. It does deliver therapy and the ramp feature is nice. I do not like the way the humidifier is removed and how you fill it. The settings for humidifier become available once you start the machine. My plan is to return this machine after using for 14 days. I'm very disappointed and was looking forward to this new machine.
