FAQs - All Products Collection

Can any CPAP mask be used with any CPAP machine?

Most CPAP masks work with any machine thanks to their standard 22mm hose connection. The AirMini Travel CPAP is the exception, featuring a unique tubing connector that differs from standard CPAP machines. But don’t worry—our Zephair universal adapter lets you use any mask you prefer.

How do I clean my CPAP mask and machine?

Daily Cleaning: Empty and rinse out the water chamber, then rinse out and hang your CPAP hose to air dry. Wipe down your mask cushion and frame.

Weekly Cleaning: Disassemble your mask, remove the water chamber, and disconnect the hose. Then wash the water chamber, hose, mask cushion, frame, short tube, and headgear in gentle soap and warm water. Use a tube brush to gently scrub the inside and outside of your hose. Allow each part to fully air dry before reassembling.

Dishwasher Safety: Machine and machine parts should not be washed in the dishwasher.

Air Filter Cleaning: The disposable air filter that comes with your order should not be washed.

How often should I replace my mask and machine parts?

It's important to replace your CPAP mask and machine parts on schedule to keep your therapy running smoothly and protect your health. Replace early if you see signs of wear and tear, such as discoloration, bad smell, air leaks, cracks, noisy therapy, etc.

  • Mask Cushion: Every 1-3 Months
  • Mask Headgear: Every 3-6 Months
  • Mask Frame: Every 3-6 Months
  • Water Chamber: Every 3-6 months
  • Hose: Every 3-6 months
  • Machine Filter: Every 1-3 months
  • CPAP Machine: Every 5 years
What are the best CPAP alternatives for sleep apnea?

Common treatment options for obstructive sleep apnea include EPAP devices (exhalation-valve pressure), oral appliances (mandibular advancement), and positional-therapy tools that encourage you to sleep on your side. You'll need to work with your sleep health provider to confirm suitability for your diagnosis and AHI.

What are the three main types of CPAP masks?

The three main types of CPAP masks are:

  • Full Face Masks – Cover both the nose and mouth, making them ideal for mouth breathers, back sleepers, or those requiring high pressure settings. Best for users who need a secure seal regardless of sleep position.
  • Nasal Masks – Cover only the nose, offering a balance of comfort and effectiveness. Recommended for side sleepers, active sleepers, or those who prefer a less bulky fit.
  • Nasal Pillow Masks – Minimalist design with soft cushions that seal at the nostrils. Ideal for those with facial hair, people who want an open field of vision, or those who feel claustrophobic in larger masks.

Choosing the right mask is crucial for effective CPAP therapy. Many leading brands like ResMed, Philips Respironics, and Fisher & Paykel offer a range of designs to ensure comfort and compliance. Need help finding the perfect fit? Our 60-Night Mask Fit Guarantee ensures you get a mask that works for you.

What types of CPAP cleaning supplies do I need to start therapy?

Technically, the only requirement is hand-washing your CPAP gear using gentle, CPAP-safe soap and warm water. Plus, you'll need a tube brush to reach the inside of your CPAP hose. However, there are a lot of other products designed to simplifiy your cleaning routine and make it more effective.

Here are a few products that will come in handy if you're just starting out:

  • Mask wipes for daily cleaning your mask cushion and frame
  • Cleaning sprays: If you'd rather skip the wipes, we also have specially formulated cleaning solutions that you can use to spray your mask and then wipe it down.
  • Tube brushes: Long, flexible brushes designed to clean the inside of your CPAP tubing.
  • CPAP soaps : Gentle-soaps designed to remove
  • Disinfectants: Hospital-grade solutions for sanitizing your equipment and killing bacteria.
What are the best CPAP accessories to make therapy more comfortable?

Our most popular comfort accessories include:

  • Mask liners reduce skin irritation and air leaks.
  • Chinstraps stop mouth leaks for people who use nasal and nasal pillow masks.
  • CPAP pillows relieve mask pressure for side sleepers.
  • Hose covers prevent rainout, water buildup, and gurgling.
