Learn More About Your New Mask

The SleepNet IQ Nasal CPAP Mask separates itself from other nasal masks through a unique, adjustable wire support frame embedded inside the cushion. Simply mold the flexible shell to conform to any face. Once fitted, the gel cushion provides a thin layer of silicone to help prevent pressure points and friction marks. The tubing can rotate 360° and take advantage of both the 2-point and 3-point headgear straps. Just rotate the bracket where the headgear attaches and use the 2-point headgear for a clear field of view. 2-point headgear sold separately.

  • "One-size-fits-most"
  • Unique Gel filled cushion
  • Moldable wire frame
  • 2 or 3-points of attachment for headgear

Do you have a guide to help me choose the right mask?
Yes, we created a Help Me Choose guide to help you select the right mask or machine according to your preferences. The guide asks you a series of questions regarding your preferences and your facial features. Based on your answers we provide you with a comparison chart of the masks that meet your criteria. Get started here:

Help Me Choose - Mask
Which CPAP masks work on which machines?

Any mask will work with any machine, with one important exception. The ResMed AirMini is only compatible with certain ResMed CPAP masks. Compatible masks for the AirMini are as follows:

  • ResMed AirFit™ N20 Nasal Mask
  • ResMed AirFit™ F20 Full Face
  • ResMed AirTouch™ F20 Full Face
  • ResMed AirFit™ P10 Nasal Pillow

When considering another CPAP, APAP or BiPAP machine from ResMed or any other manufacturer, mask compatibility extends to all brands. The AirMini uses non-standard tubing to connect the machine to the mask, and is the primary reason why other masks won't work with the AirMini. Despite this issue, many of our customers consider the AirMini to be an excellent machine.

Are prescriptions required for mask, machine, humidifier, and EPAP purchases?

Yes. Federal law requires we have a valid prescription on file before we ship your mask, machine, humidifier, or EPAP therapy, including Provent and Bongo RX. You will also need a prescription to purchase the Nightbalance POSA device.

We provide many easy ways to get your prescription:

What are the CPAP, BiPAP, Sleep Apnea, and Oxygen related HCPCS, CPT or billing codes?

E1399 is Miscellaneous and is used for other CPAP and Oxygen items.
How often should I replace my mask?
Medicare allows for mask cushion replacement every three (3) months, and a complete mask system replacement every six (6) months. CPAP manufacturers and vendors suggest these replacement schedules as well.

In our experience, most mask cushions begin to deteriorate after about six months of use. The cushion eventually becomes too soft to hold a seal. The headgear straps lose elasticity and must be tightened more and more to get the same quality seal.

We strongly suggest replacing cushions and pillows as soon as they start to soften. Air leaks may reduce the effectiveness of CPAP therapy and headgear that is too tight may cause facial sores at pressure points. In most cases, replacement headgear is available if it is stretched out or the Velcro worn out.

To see what parts of your mask are replaceable refer to our Replacement Part Finder. Just search for your mask to see all of the replaceable parts.
How do I care for my mask?

Masks should be washed daily with warm water and gentle soap or baby shampoo. Let the mask air dry. Never use antibacterial soap as it will break down the silicone of the mask cushion. Avoid soaps that include lotion which can coat the mask and cause it to lose its seal. A safe cleaner is the Control III Disinfectant CPAP Cleaning Solution. Remember, going to bed with a clean face will improve your seal and protect the lifespan of your mask. Citrus Mask Wipes

The best time to clean your mask is in the morning after use. This removes the oils left behind from your skin which can reduce the lifespan of your mask. We recommend using Mask Wipes to make daily morning cleaning easy. The mask wipes are made from materials that will not break down your mask.

Citrus Mask Wipes

For customers who want to completely disinfect their mask and accessories, there's an even better option than wipes. The Lumin Mask and Accessories Cleaner uses powerful UV light to disinfect, killing almost all bacteria almost instantly. It's not a cleaner and doesn't scrub or wash anything, but for simple disinfecting the Lumin works great!

Why might I prefer a nasal mask?
The ideal CPAP mask is not noticeable to the user during CPAP therapy. If you breathe through your nose only, the nasal mask may offer the best therapy. Nasal cushions create a very good seal around your nose, while keeping a small profile. Also, nasal masks can be found in silicone, gel, foam, or cloth material. The SleepWeaver masks are the only cloth masks on the market, and are a very popular choice among nasal mask users. Lastly, most nasal masks have a forehead support which offers stability and support for the mask.

IQ NASAL MASK

Verified purchase | Jul. 28, 2011 | Verified CPAP.com Customer
SIMPLY CANNOT GET GOOD SEAL, HEADGEAR IS WORST I EVER HAD, WON'T STAY POSITIONED ON HEAD, HARD TO GET ON, JUST AWFUL. MASK IS THICK AND COMFORTABLE MATERIAL BUT SAME THICKNESS THAT MAKES IT COMFY ALSO MAKES IT SEMI-RIGID AND WON'T BEND MUCH. CANNOT GET GOOD SEAL. WILL HAVE WHISTLING LG VOL AIR RUSHING UP TO FACE ALL NIGHT.

Good mask, excellent value

Verified purchase | Jun. 21, 2011 | Verified CPAP.com Customer
Simple, uncomplicated mask. Permits sleeping on side--stays sealed when rolling over, etc. Compare functionality and price to Respironics & Resmed: Are you kidding me? Same function for less than half the price. Excellent value. Only criticism: Narrow straps DO stretch, so you need to adjust over yime

IQ NASAL MASK, 3 PT HEADGEAR

Verified purchase | May. 04, 2011 | Verified CPAP.com Customer
MASK GREAT, BETTER THAN OLDER MODELS. 3- PT HEADGEAR GOOD BUT SINGLE STRAP OVER CROWN OF HEAD SLIPS TO ONE SIDE; DIFFICULT TO KEEP HEADGEAR IN PLACE WHEN ADJUSTING IT WHILE STANDING.

Perfect - no "maskerade"

Verified purchase | Apr. 12, 2011 | Verified CPAP.com Customer
Well, I thought my new favorite mask was the Simplicity mask; but the IQ is the winner for me. As with the Simplicity mask, this one adjusts from above my head instead of around the circumference of my head as I mentioned in the Simplicity review. However, the thing that makes this mask stand above the Simplicity is the cushioning around the mask. It is incredibly soft and comfortable. That is the feature that makes this mask better than the Simplicity. Like the Simplicity, this mask covers just the nose, allowing for more comfort and freedom if you roll around a lot in your sleep. Also, no leaks, and the air "exhaust" does not blow into my eyes. I like them both, but if I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the IQ.

Great for Small Faces but One Small Change Recommended

Verified purchase | Feb. 24, 2011 | Verified CPAP.com Customer
This is not the best made mask but it is really quiet and works great for people with small faces/noses as it can be molded just by pressing on the mask. The one thing that drives me crazy is that the manufacturer did not trim the plastic on the inside of the mask so that it cuts into the underside of your nose. I have to take out a nail scissors and trim it every time I open the package. Shoddy but I still haven't found a quieter or better fitting mask.

Great mask, average headgear

Verified purchase | Dec. 29, 2010 | Verified CPAP.com Customer
This is a more favorable review than I gave the first iteration of the IQ mask a few years ago on another forum. At that time, I said "great mask; terrible headgear". Well, they have definitely improved the 3 -point headgear--by a mile. But now I need to shorten the top-to-bottom headgear length by tying dental floss around the top and bottom sections on both the left and right sides to shorten the length of the headgear & prevent it from sliding up to the very top of my head, like a crown. From reading forums & talking to various manufacturer reps, I think most women will need to do this. (The original headgear was actually too small for me, top-to-bottom; I had the impression that IQ might have been targeting treating female/pediatric apnea.) Now, the IQ headgear is rather like a 3-point version of Resmed's adult headgear, and is surely unisex--leaning toward the longer-headed male template. AS for the mask, IQ's manufacturer has changed the wonderful original blue mask material (which is still shown in CPAP.com's photo) to a clear material, which is almost, but not quite, as soft and custom-fitting. Sorry to see the blue material go. Still, I will order it again because it has an ideal mask shape for someone with less than an inch between the nose and top lip, and I know how to modify the now-larger headgear to be perfect for me.
