How long does it take to adjust to wearing the TAP PAP Nasal Pillow Mask?

It depends on which part you're adjusting to. Adjusting to a mouthpiece may take a few days. Adjusting to a CPAP mask for the first time can take a couple of weeks for some people. If you experience discomfort, you can resize your mouthpiece or try a different size nasal pillow cushion.

What should I do if my TAP PAP mouthpiece feels too tight?

The TAP PAP mouthpiece should be a comfortably snug fit. To loosen the fit of the mouthpiece, hold the mouthpiece under hot tap water for 15 seconds and re-insert. Rather than sucking against the mouthpiece, gently bite on it for approximately 4 minutes. The fit will loosen around the teeth.

If you're looking to pair the TAP PAP with your AirMini AutoSet, you can purchase the Zephair Tubing Adapter, which allows you to use standard-sized tubing with your AirMini and use any mask. Please note, though, that you will not be able to use AirMini HumidX Waterless Humidification with this configuration. However, Breas Blue Foam HMEs and Transcend AirMist HMEs will work with standard tubing.

    Best mask for minimal interference

    This is the best option when bothered by straps, etc around the face. No pulling when side sleeping, pulling the nasal pillows out of the nose. Keeps the pillows right where they are needed and comfortable. No waking up with side marks on the face.

    The best nasal pillow mask ever

    The Tap Pap is the best nasal pillow mask because:

    1. You don't need any headgear (straps and the like)

    2. Once you fit it there are no leaks, even when tossing and turning

    But...it doesn't work if you are a mouth breather, and it can be a little tricky to mold the mouthpiece properly. The mouthpiece shrinks even after you think it has cooled, so you do best by moving it slightly as it cools - if it feels a little too loose when you are done, it will probably be perfect in use.

    Tap Pap CPAP Mask with Nasal Pillows

    This is the best mask I've ever used. I need a mouth guard because I grind my teeth at night and the integrated mouthguard is what holds the mask in place, so that means there are no more straps and for me, it kills two birds with one stone.
