FAQs - ResMed AirSense 11 Batteries Collection

Which battery works with the ResMed AirSense 11?

There are a lot of batteries that are compatible with the AirSense 11, including popular options like the Zopec Explore Series Batteries or Freedom CPAP Battery 160. When you're shopping for a battery, there are two types of solutions to look for:

  • Battery with a wall outlet (AC): These are larger and tend to have higher capacity. Just plug your AirSense 10’s normal power brick into it. Make sure the battery says "pure sine wave," which means it's safe for sensitive electronics. These are ideal for extended outages lasting more than a night or two.
  • CPAP-specific battery (DC): These are smaller, but also more energy efficient when you're using them to power a CPAP machine. With these, you use your AirSense 11 DC converter cable (a special cord) to plug straight from the battery to your machine. These batteries are usually better for a night or two off the grid.

How long will the AirSense 11 last on a CPAP battery?

It depends on battery size and your machine's settings. Higher pressures, leaks, heated tubing, and high humidity shorten runtime. As a quick guide:

Pro tip: Turn off your humidifier and heated tube, and use a good mask seal to extend your battery life.

Is an AirSense 11 battery pack OK for flights?

FAA and TSA regulations state that lithium-ion batteries and power banks must be packed into a carry-on, not stored in your luggage. Always check your battery’s watt-hour rating (Wh) and your airline’s rules before you fly.

  • Up to 100 Wh: Approved for flight
  • 100–160 Wh: Usually okay, but check with your airline
  • Over 160 Wh: Not allowed
Can I use my CPAP battery as a backup battery for power outages?

Most of our batteries can be used as a backup CPAP battery. Look for batteries that support “pass-through” or “UPS mode.” To set up your UPS battery as a backup, you'll plug your battery into the wall, and then plug your CPAP machine into the battery. So when the lights go out, the battery takes over without missing a beat.

Do I need a special cable for my ResMed battery backup?

Oftentimes, yes. Many ResMed backup CPAP batteries require an AirSense 10 DC converter cable. However, universal AC batteries (with a wall-style outlet) may not need a cable. Check our product pages for more information about specific batteries.
