Finding a full face mask that stays put without crowding your view can change your therapy. The ResMed Quattro FX Full Face CPAP Mask uses a dual-wall Spring Air cushion and fewer facial touchpoints to support a steady seal with a lighter feel.

With no forehead support, you keep an open line of sight for reading or glasses. A grid-style diffuser helps direct exhaled air gently for a more partner-friendly bedroom, and the magnet-free design supports those with medical implants.

  • Stable, gentle seal: Dual-wall Spring Air cushion inflates to fit your features.
  • Open view: No forehead support for reading, TV, or glasses.
  • Easy on/off: Fit-and-save quick-release headgear clips.
  • Position-friendly: Comfortable for back and side sleeping.
  • Fewer marks: Reduced facial touchpoints help limit pressure spots.
  • Magnet-free: Designed for use around medical implants.

Open-view comfort with Quattro FX’s Spring Air seal

Open sightline, simple routine

Read or watch comfortably before bed—the Quattro FX keeps your field of vision clear. To put on, use the swing technique between your bottom lip and chin, then let airflow gently inflate the cushion before making small strap adjustments.

  • No forehead support means an unobstructed view.
  • Four Velcro tabs fine-tune comfort without over-tightening.
  • Quick-release clips make nightly removal effortless.

Fit in seconds

Comfort starts with an easy routine, not a wrestling match. Quattro FX is designed to settle in place as air flows.

  1. Select your size, loosen straps.
  2. Use the swing technique between lip and chin.
  3. Start therapy; let the cushion gently inflate.
  4. Fine‑tune with four Velcro tabs and save with quick‑release clips.

Dual-wall Spring Air cushion

The Quattro FX cushion stabilizes from the inside while a soft outer layer gently inflates against your face. This approach aims to reduce leaks and pressure points so you don’t have to overtighten your headgear for a seal that lasts through the night.

  • Inner support helps the cushion stay put as you move.
  • Outer membrane inflates to accommodate facial contours.
  • Designed to limit skin irritation and morning redness.
Compatibility and sizing

Quattro FX components are unique to the Quattro FX family. Sizes do not match directly with the Mirage Quattro, and frames, cushion clips, and cushions between the two families are not interchangeable. For a confident first fit, review the Fitting Guide and check your size with the Sizing Guide.

Care and refresh schedule

Hand-wash the mask and headgear with mild, non-antibacterial soap and warm water, then air dry out of direct sunlight. For quick daily upkeep, try CPAP mask wipes; for periodic disinfection, consider Control III solution or the Lumin UV sanitizer.

  • Cushion: replace every 1–3 months, based on wear.
  • Frame: replace every 3–6 months.
  • Headgear: replace every 3–6 months.

FAQs about the ResMed Quattro FX Full Face CPAP Mask

How often should I replace my mask?

Medicare allows for mask cushion replacement every three (3) months, and a complete mask system replacement every six (6) months. CPAP manufacturers and vendors suggest these replacement schedules as well. In our experience, most mask cushions begin to deteriorate after about six months of use. The cushion eventually becomes too soft to hold a seal. The headgear straps lose elasticity and must be tightened more and more to get the same quality seal. We strongly suggest replacing cushions and pillows as soon as they start to soften. Air leaks may reduce the effectiveness of CPAP therapy and headgear that is too tight may cause facial sores at pressure points. In most cases, replacement headgear is available if it is stretched out or the Velcro worn out. To see what parts of your mask are replaceable refer to our Replacement Part Finder. Just search for your mask to see all of the replaceable parts.

Why might I need a full face mask?

If your mouth drops open during sleep, a full face may be selected to allow for the CPAP airflow to be delivered through both the nose and mouth. Some CPAP users move to using a full face mask after finding that using a nasal mask along with a chinstrap does not meet their sleep therapy needs. Some CPAP users use a full face mask when suffering from seasonal allergies.

Are prescriptions required for mask, machine, humidifier, and EPAP purchases?

Yes. Federal law requires we have a valid prescription on file before we ship your mask, machine, humidifier, or EPAP therapy, including Provent and Bongo RX. You will also need a prescription to purchase the Nightbalance POSA device.

We provide many easy ways to get your prescription:

  • We can request your prescription for you! When you checkout, just let us know you would like us to request your prescription, or you can log into your account to have us request your prescription.
  • Fax your prescription to our toll-free fax number: 866.353.2727, or our international fax number: 713.541.7377
  • Email your prescription to cpap@cpap.com
  • Upload your prescription in your account, under the Prescriptions Section
  • Ask your doctor to fill out our prescription form. We have both a standard prescription form and an EPAP prescription form.

For more information on prescriptions, please see our Prescription Section of the Learning Center.

I sleep on my side or stomach, what are my options?

Sleeping on your side or stomach is preferable to sleeping on your back because sleeping on your back worsens all forms of sleep-disordered breathing. However, sleeping on your side or stomach can present problems with CPAP therapy. Both positions can put pressure on one side of your mask increasing your leak rate. Your options are to (1) try a mask that other side sleepers like (2) try bed pillows made for CPAP users.

  • Masks: In our experience, some masks allow for movement in different sleeping positions better than others. See our recommended masks for Active or Side/Stomach Sleepers.
  • Special CPAP Pillows: Regular bed pillows can put pressure against the mask and cause leaks. CPAP pillows are made with CPAP users in mind. These special pillows are designed to minimize the contact of the CPAP mask with the pillow, even when you are sleeping on your side.
What does a mask prescription need to say?

A mask prescription must contain all of the following information:

  • One of the following words or phrases: "CPAP Mask", "CPAP Supplies", "CPAP Humidifier", "CPAP", "Continuous Positive Airway Pressure", "APAP", "AutoPAP", "AutoSet", "Auto CPAP", "Auto Adjusting CPAP", "Self Adjusting CPAP", "BiPAP", "BiLevel", "VPAP", "BiPAP Auto", "BiPAP ST", "Synchrony ST", "VPAP ST"
  • Your physician's contact information
  • Your physician's signature
