Cleaning Tips

  1. Disconnect the pillows from the mask frame.
  2. Using a soft bristle brush, gently scrub the pillows with mild soap and clean drinking water, making sure to remove any debris that may have collected.
  3. Submerge the short tube in soapy water, or at the very least, run some mild soap and water through the short tube to clean it.
  4. Rinse the pillows and short tube until all soap has been removed.
  5. Set aside to air dry, but do not place in direct sunlight.

Where do I find the size?

The Opus 360 Nasal Pillow CPAP mask frame does not have an identifiable size because it offers a universal fit to each of the Opus 360 nasal pillows.

To find the size of the nasal pillow, hold the nasal pillow with the two small openings facing upright. Turn the nasal pillow to view the back of the cushion or the area that faces downward when placed into the mask frame. In the middle of the nasal pillow, locate a large, embossed letter within a clear square. This letter represents the size of the nasal pillow.

Do you have a guide to help me choose the right mask?
Yes, we created a Help Me Choose guide to help you select the right mask or machine according to your preferences. The guide asks you a series of questions regarding your preferences and your facial features. Based on your answers we provide you with a comparison chart of the masks that meet your criteria. Get started here:

Help Me Choose - Mask
Which CPAP masks work on which machines?

Any mask will work with any machine, with one important exception. The ResMed AirMini is only compatible with certain ResMed CPAP masks. Compatible masks for the AirMini are as follows:

  • ResMed AirFit™ N20 Nasal Mask
  • ResMed AirFit™ F20 Full Face
  • ResMed AirTouch™ F20 Full Face
  • ResMed AirFit™ P10 Nasal Pillow

When considering another CPAP, APAP or BiPAP machine from ResMed or any other manufacturer, mask compatibility extends to all brands. The AirMini uses non-standard tubing to connect the machine to the mask, and is the primary reason why other masks won't work with the AirMini. Despite this issue, many of our customers consider the AirMini to be an excellent machine.

Are prescriptions required for mask, machine, humidifier, and EPAP purchases?

Yes. Federal law requires we have a valid prescription on file before we ship your mask, machine, humidifier, or EPAP therapy, including Provent and Bongo RX. You will also need a prescription to purchase the Nightbalance POSA device.

We provide many easy ways to get your prescription:

  • We can request your prescription for you! When you checkout, just let us know you would like us to request your prescription, or you can log into your account to have us request your prescription.
  • Fax your prescription to our toll-free fax number: 866.353.2727, or our international fax number: 713.541.7377
  • Email your prescription to cpap@cpap.com
  • Upload your prescription in your account, under the Prescriptions Section
  • Ask your doctor to fill out our prescription form. We have both a standard prescription form and an EPAP prescription form.

For more information on prescriptions, please see our Prescription Section of the Learning Center.

What are the CPAP, BiPAP, Sleep Apnea, and Oxygen related HCPCS, CPT or billing codes?

E1399 is Miscellaneous and is used for other CPAP and Oxygen items.
How often should I replace my mask?
Medicare allows for mask cushion replacement every three (3) months, and a complete mask system replacement every six (6) months. CPAP manufacturers and vendors suggest these replacement schedules as well.

In our experience, most mask cushions begin to deteriorate after about six months of use. The cushion eventually becomes too soft to hold a seal. The headgear straps lose elasticity and must be tightened more and more to get the same quality seal.

We strongly suggest replacing cushions and pillows as soon as they start to soften. Air leaks may reduce the effectiveness of CPAP therapy and headgear that is too tight may cause facial sores at pressure points. In most cases, replacement headgear is available if it is stretched out or the Velcro worn out.

To see what parts of your mask are replaceable refer to our Replacement Part Finder. Just search for your mask to see all of the replaceable parts.
How do I care for my mask?

Masks should be washed daily with warm water and gentle soap or baby shampoo. Let the mask air dry. Never use antibacterial soap as it will break down the silicone of the mask cushion. Avoid soaps that include lotion which can coat the mask and cause it to lose its seal. A safe cleaner is the Control III Disinfectant CPAP Cleaning Solution. Remember, going to bed with a clean face will improve your seal and protect the lifespan of your mask. Citrus Mask Wipes

The best time to clean your mask is in the morning after use. This removes the oils left behind from your skin which can reduce the lifespan of your mask. We recommend using Mask Wipes to make daily morning cleaning easy. The mask wipes are made from materials that will not break down your mask.

Citrus Mask Wipes

For customers who want to completely disinfect their mask and accessories, there's an even better option than wipes. The Lumin Mask and Accessories Cleaner uses powerful UV light to disinfect, killing almost all bacteria almost instantly. It's not a cleaner and doesn't scrub or wash anything, but for simple disinfecting the Lumin works great!

Why might I prefer a nasal pillow mask?

Nasal pillow delivery systems offer less contact with the face than either full face or traditional nasal masks. This system works well for those who tend to feel closed in or claustrophobic. Many nasal pillow systems have nothing that cross in front of the bridge of the nose allowing for a clear line of sight for reading or watching TV.

It can be easier to achieve a seal with this system, because there is less for you to adjust and less surface area to create and hold a seal.

Nasal pillow systems may work well for someone with a mustache or beard as the seal occurs only at the nares or nasal opening.

Someone who has a facial mole or scar near or around the nose, may find getting a seal with a traditional nasal mask difficult. Nasal pillows are an option in this circumstance.

Most nasal pillow masks also come with all sizes included to make finding the right size easier.

I sleep on my side or stomach, what are my options?
Sleeping on your side or stomach is preferable to sleeping on your back because sleeping on your back worsens all forms of sleep-disordered breathing. However, sleeping on your side or stomach can present problems with CPAP therapy. Both positions can put pressure on one side of your mask increasing your leak rate. Your options are to (1) try a mask that other side sleepers like (2) try bed pillows made for CPAP users.
  • Masks: In our experience, some masks allow for movement in different sleeping positions better than others. See our recommended masks for Active or Side/Stomach Sleepers.

  • Special CPAP Pillows: Regular bed pillows can put pressure against the mask and cause leaks. CPAP pillows are made with CPAP users in mind. These special pillows are designed to minimize the contact of the CPAP mask with the pillow, even when you are sleeping on your side.

Opus 360 Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask with Headgear

Verified purchase | Dec. 15, 2022 | Verified CPAP.com Customer
I have used this mask (with large nasal pillows) for more than 5 years. I have tried a variety of different type masks since starting CPAP in 2004 and always come back to this model. Only complaint - the glue holding the thin foam cheek cushions to the plastic frame fails over time with regular use so and the cushions need to be re-glued which is a bit of a hassle but manageable.

When it fits, it seems okay?

Verified purchase | Mar. 21, 2021 | Verified CPAP.com Customer
This mask suffered from the basic problem that almost ALL nasal pillow masks seem to - namely, that the pillow position isn't adjustable separate from that of the entire frame and headgear. So as a result, it doesn't QUITE fit when the headgear's comfortable and you end up with a not-so-great seal and hissing, and vice versa. (I think this ended up with me swallowing a lot of air this last run using it.) On the flip side, if it DOES seat - when you're repositioning yourself while laying down, that ball-joint at the mask/hose interface is the bee's knees. That is possibly the most comfortable interface I've ever dealt with on a mask (pillow or full nasal), and I really wish my mask of choice had that as a feature.

Ok

Verified purchase | Dec. 09, 2020 | Verified CPAP.com Customer
I found that the tube is too short if running through the head strap and the connection with my humidified tubing doesn't spin freely so I was constantly being woken needing to fiddle with the tubing. When it wasn't attached to the head strap it was better. I found that the pillows didn't get as good a seal as the P10.

I have used the Opus 360 Nasal Pillow for over five years and 5 stars is not enough to describe how good, inexpensive, and long lasting this product is. It allows you to sleep side to side, on your back and stomach with complete comfort due to the top of the head hose mounting, and the pillow barely touches your nostrils. I use a hose hanger which allows complete movement without dislodging from your nose/face. Sorry it took me 5 years to write a review.
