Features & Benefits:
- Only 25.8 dBA, Considered Almost Whisper-Quiet
- Simple Controls and Easy to Operate
- Auto-Adjusting Pressure
- OptiStart Technology
- Multiple Ways to Access Data on Your Smartphone or Computer
- OPTIONAL Heated Humidifier
- 45-Minute Ramp and Advanced Features

Whisper Quiet Machine— Only 25.8 Decibels!
If your bed partner is easily bothered by a noisy CPAP machine, the DreamStation Auto may be the answer. It's quieter than most leading CPAP machines on the market today. While it's running, you may be hard-pressed to hear it, and it may make things more comfortable as you settle in and try to sleep.
Simple Controls Make it Easy to Operate
The DreamStation Auto has an Auto-Start feature, meaning it can turn on by just the rhythm of your breathing. Once it starts, it begins at the lowest pressure setting and gradually ramps up to full pressure after you've fallen asleep. If you want, you can also start it by pressing the start button on top of the machine, and the machine does the rest. Automatic settings control humidity, pressure, and comfort without needing to do anything else. Just fall asleep.
Auto-Adjusting Pressure with OptiStart Can Mean Fewer Doctor Visits
The DreamStation Auto measures your breathing and makes pressure adjustments automatically, during the night, in real time. If your initial pressure needs to be increased, instead of needing to go to the doctor to change it, the DreamStation Auto can do this automatically. This can mean fewer trips to the doctor for pressure changes, fewer sleep studies, and fewer copays!
Multiple Ways to Access Your Therapy Data: Smartphone, Tablet, or Computer
The DreamStation Auto makes it easy to get your therapy data. With the DreamMapper smartphone app, your mobile device connects via Bluetooth to your DreamStation, and the data from the previous night transfers immediately. The app provides information about your pressure, leak rate, and what your AHI was from the previous night. It also breaks down the number of apneas and hypopneas. Your data can also be saved to a memory card for easy viewing on a personal computer.
OPTIONAL DreamStation Heated Humidifier and Heated Tube
Available for additional purchase is the DreamStation Heated Humidifier, the integrated heated humidifier for use with the DreamStation Auto. The heated humidifier connects directly to the machine and features dry box technology to help reduce the chance of water entering the machine from the humidifier.
Also available for additional purchase is the DreamStation Heated Tube to further increase therapy comfort by helping maintain heat and moisture in therapy air all the way to the mask. If the humidifier is not being used, the heated tube can be connected directly to the machine, though it will not heat.
45-Minute Ramp and Advanced Features
The DreamStation Auto has many advanced features included. Some of these features are:
- 45-Minute SmartRamp: Unlike a traditional ramp that increases pressure constantly over a set amount of time, SmartRamp will monitor the user and increase pressure only if an event occurs.
- Mask Fit Check: This feature will provide airflow to the mask and display if leaks are detected in the mask.
- Regular Alerts/Reminders: Every 30 days the machine will show a reminder to change filters.
A-Flex Pressure Relief
A-Flex helps mimic natural breathing patterns by lowering pressure during exhalation. The transition between inhalation and exhalation is also softened, making breathing more natural. As the machine adjusts pressure during the night, A-Flex also adjusts so that the desired amount of relief for exhalation is always given.

Please Note: DreamStation machines are not equipped with a Mask Alert feature. The machines are not designed to sound an alarm or display the words "Leak Alert" on the screen. The Mask Fit Check feature can be used to ensure the mask is sealing properly prior to beginning therapy.
The DreamStation machines must be used with DreamStation filters and accessories. Accessories for other machines, even other machines by Respironics, are not compatible and will not work with the DreamStation. See the "Replacement Parts" page for the DreamStation machine to see compatible replacement parts and accessories.
If the optional humidifier is not purchased, the DreamStation will come with a standard, non-heated 15mm hose. The machine also has a setting for a larger 22mm hose if desired. Ensure the correct tube setting is selected for the hose being used so that effective therapy is provided.
If the optional heated tube is purchased and connected, the machine will automatically change the tube setting to 15mm and it cannot be adjusted. The optional heated tube should be washed regularly with warm water and a mild soap. Ensure the tube and all connections are completely dry before use. If the humidifier is not being used, the heated tube can be connected directly to the machine, though it will not heat.
The DreamStation will come with the dark blue reusable filter installed, and the lighter blue disposable filter uninstalled. To attach the disposable filter to the reusable filter, place it underneath the reusable filter with the slotted side facing up, and the longer edge facing the side of the reusable filter that faces the outside of the machine. Line up the filters and press the reusable filter down to connect the two together, then slide the combined filters into the machine.
The optional humidifier has replaceable parts such as the dry box assembly, lid seal, and dry box seals that should be replaced if damaged or worn. See the replacement parts section of this page to view all available parts. The humidifier chamber is dishwasher safe and should be washed regularly to avoid mineral deposits and ensure cleanliness. When removing the water chamber and placing back in the humidifier, carefully use both hands to hold the chamber steady to avoid spilling of water into the humidifier or machine. Do not exceed the max fill lines on the chamber or water may escape out of the chamber.

Power Supply and DC Cable Tips
The 80 watt power supply included with the DreamStation machine will power the optional heated humidifier and heated tube. The power supply is found behind the divider inside the carry bag with the look and hoop fasteners. The DreamStation power supply is the only power supply that will work with the DreamStation machines. Power supplies for other machines including previous Respironics machines, are not compatible. Similarly, the DreamStation-specific DC cable is the only DC cable compatible with the DreamStation machines, other DC cables will not work.

What's the difference between the DreamStation Auto and the DreamStation Go?
The DreamStation Auto and the DreamStation Go are two very different machines. The DreamStation Go is Respironics' newest machine, and is built for travel. It features a small form factor and is extremely portable.
The machine you're looking at right now, is the DreamStation Auto. It's one of the quietest machines on the market today and can be purcahsed with an optional heated humidifier. It automatically adjusts the pressure with each breath, making sure the pressure is always correct for individual therapy needs.
Both machines are great at what they do, and choosing the right machine is going to depend on how it's intended to be used. Frequent travellers may prefer the DreamStation Go. The DreamStation Auto would be a great first machine, or a great replacement to older equipment. Choosing a machine is a personal decision, and it depends on individual needs.
What's the Difference Between the DreamStation Auto and the DreamStation CPAP?
These two machines are very similar with one major exception. The DreamStation Auto selects the right pressure for the user based on an analysis of individual breaths by the user. As the user's needs change, the DreamStation Auto selects the right pressure setting automatically.
The DreamStation CPAP is programmed with one pressure when it leaves our warehouse, and it doesn't have the ability to auto adjust to the right pressure like the DreamStation Auto does.
The DreamStation 80W power supply is compatible with 100 - 240 V AC power. If used internationally, a wall plug adapter must be used, such as the World Traveler Power Adapter Plugs. The power supply itself does not come with a cord. The actual cord with the plug for the DreamStation Machine can be found here.
The shielded DC cord allows a DreamStation machine to be plugged in to a cigarette-style DC outlet to be powered while away from AC power. The shielded DC cord will power the machine, humidifier, and heated tube. This DC cord is compatible with DreamStation machines only and is not compatible with any other machine.
How to Change the Fuse for the Shielded DC Cord
The DreamStation comes with an 8 amp fuse already installed. Should the fuse need to be replaced, no worries. The DC cord comes with two replacement fuses. Replacement instructions are as follows:
BE CAUTIOUS: the spring inside the DC Cord should not be removed or accidentally become dislodged, as this can result in damage or loss. If the spring becomes accidentally removed, it will need to be re-inserted for the device to work.
- Unscrew and remove the DC cord's cap, and remove the fuse.
- Slide the replacement fuse in behind the cap.
- Screw the cap in place on top of the replacement fuse.
Weighing in at only 1.7 pounds the Freedom Battery is a terrific option for travel. Add the DreamStation 12V Power Adapter for C-100 & Freedom CPAP Travel Battery Packs to connect the DreamStation Auto to the Freedom Battery. The Freedom battery meets UN Manual Test and Criteria requirements for travel.
The Respironics Lithium Ion Travel Battery Kit is intended for use with 50 Series, 60 Series, and DreamStation machines. Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) mode is designed to help the battery kick in automatically if AC power fails. This mode ensures power is never lost to the CPAP machine, even after power from the outlet is disconnected. When AC power is available again, the battery will be bypassed, and AC will resume powering the machine. The battery weighs 2.25 lbs and is FAA approved for use on flights. The kit includes a travel case, device cord, and 50 Series adapters used to connect the machine to the battery as well as connect the battery to the power supply for charging. This kit does not include a power supply as it is designed to operate from the machine's power supply.
The manufacturer states the Respironics battery has a run time of 14 hours with a pressure of 10cm H20 or lower, excluding a heated tube humidifier.
